Stop/start can actually be dangerous.
My wife's last car had some turbo lag off idle, DSG programmed to get into second gear as soon as you get rolling, which accentuated the lag, and adding stop/start to that was lethal trying to take gap in roundabout traffic.
We could turn off stop/start...
Jammers are the answer to Lidar. It's funny as hell when the cop keeps getting ERR on his display and can't work it out.
Then the buggers made them illegal here.
Maintainers are the dogs nuts. My bike was on a maintainer whenever I wasn't riding it. When I sold it in '23 the battery was the original - 9 years old and still turning it over fine.
I'm starting to think car power outputs are going the way of Hyperbikes. That is, beyond the ability of even good drivers to use a fraction of it on the street.
To be honest, I'd be happy with the N/A Z06. But I would have a Ferrari 812 Competizione or a Dodeci Cilindri just for the sound.
I'd never criticise anyone for adding more grunt. Too much is almost enough.
But I'll pass, stock power can get me in plenty of trouble as it is. If I did track days or such I might think differently.
And, I much prefer blowers over turbos. Turbos always feel like someone has stretched the...
The explaination I heard from a Beemer specialist Tech was that BMW gurarantee that power rating under any reaonable condition it maybe driven in. So stinking hot and at reasonably high altitude they say it'll make rated power.
But the thing sure hit every branch of the ugly tree. If I had one...
I didn't use the USB port, I tapped into the connector.
I couldn't post the link for some reason. Search below
DIY: Hardwiring a RADAR DETECTOR in an 2024 Ford S650 Mustang
Interesting stuff. 0 - 100kmh is probably 4.4 or 4.5 secs, which is good for a rear drive car without launch control.
Actually launch always struck me as a waste of time for the street. Sitting waiting for a green light with the exhaust popping and banging is a sure way to meet cops. I only used...
I remember when I was 3 or 4 my Dad had a Morris Minor, we did 12 hour plus trips in that POS. And it often needed defibrillation to start.
When he died in 2012 he had a 1985 Toyota Corolla slowback. I don't think he drove in the last 5 or 6 years though. My brother still has that car, it's...
I don't drive much at night. Always take cabs to raves and such:rockon:, or the chiropractor next day.
But when I do I want to see and be seen.
Other's may not agree.
Mike Valentine was a great guy, a great philanthropist donating millions to colleges and such, also a bit of a genius in speed tax reduction. He loved Porsches too.
I spoke to him a couple of times to get quick answers to an issue, and had contact via a Discord channel. He was always helpful...
I went from P Zero PZ4's to Mich PS5's on my last car. What I noticed was better steering feel, initial steering response was sharper, and noise was a bit less.
There was very little in it, and if the Pirelli's were on special at the time I would have stayed with them.
JBV1 is the best by a country mile, but the developer won't/can't do an IoS version.
If I had an I Phone, I'd get a dedicated Android to use that app. It's that good.
