Allied to this subject, is another issue 'us guys' don't like to talk about. Because we're (gear heads) as masculine as we are, it is often assumed we know how to buy a vehicle. Do we really? Adjunct to this, women, supposedly the weaker sex, don't know squat about buying one. Again, really?
My...
I don't wish to start a battle front, but something has been bugging me for some time. To wit...
I see all sorts of interior and exterior modifications being discussed among all of the forum topic areas. Like tires and rims, seat changes, lighting, adding, subtracting, you name it. All of this...
I can't speak for down under, but in my locale (SE New Mexico) 91 octane is all you can buy at the pump. You can buy 105 Octane unleaded racing fuel, but it contains more ethanol TBE than Ford allows (warranty). At about $9 a gallon, I say no thanks. The 100 octane unleaded is a bit cheaper at...
If you look closely at the plugs in question, you'll notice they are capped. Look at the safety clip which secures the connectors.
One more thing. This certainly isn't for future upgrades. If they were, the bean counters would have long-since removed them!
No one care I suspect, but...
When you have a builtin system designed to support Start/Stop, it includes a heavier-duty battery, a larger (better?) starter, plus a bunch of other stuff! Some of the earlier system actually had a second battery (usually in the trunk) to keep the radio, lights...
I've been told (no names please) that the Forscan tool doesn't work on an S650, yet it does. At least you can read most of the data you can see on the dash like boost, temps, etc. You obviously can't change anything due to the lock down. What I would like to be able to do, is graph (log) the...
I've mentioned this here previously as I recall.... If you want to see what an Eco-Boost can do, use Drag mode with the 10R80 in L, and the traction and stability controls off. If this isn't enough for you, then wait until early Summer for Ford's PT.
Since I live in Roswell, NM, I'm very familiar with myths, especially those who think ET can actually drive faster than the speed of light! Even with the advent of the James Webb Space Telescope, which has disproved all manner of scientific paradigms, the myths still outweigh the truth! The same...
My Eco-Boost was build in June, and I haven't received any notification. I have, however, received two known software updates, and have not had the malady in any case.
In my mind, adding a big spoiler to a convertible is like adding a Cosworth rear hatch spoiler to a XR4Ti. The two panel spoiler is sight limiting enough, much less the three panel one.
My bad as they say. My only defense is owning a Honda hot rod which IS front wheel drive.
I once owned a well-warmed over XR2 (250 HP out of 1.5L). It was fine in a straight line, but driving on a closed gymkhana when the turbo decided to spin up, or Lordy! It was actually worse than a Honda...
