Based solely o the photos, I agree that is too close. I have a Borla made, Ford supplied exhaust on my Ranger. I too was worried about the closeness, but the Ranger setup is about 1/4 inch, not 1/16 like the photo shows.
Personal opinion. When you get to any point which pushes the limit, it is time to hire a professional! Supercharging (turbo or blower) isn't about 'Oh let's add two pounds of boost and see what happens' scenario! All it takes is just one piston pre detonating due to a lean condition, and pow...
Oh boy, here I go again... 10R80
If you're one of these guys who is caught up into the stop light derby mentality, then I guess the manual is the way to go. This said, most of us use our Mustangs as daily drivers (I'm not full time as I own a Ranger too), and rowing a manual box is rush hour...
Break in periods these days aren't much more than hold overs from yesteryear. You do want things to wear in like rings, but that specific issue was over in about 5 minutes. What is most important is that YOU get broken in! If you check around, you'll find out that the first thousand miles or so...
It is all noise pollution!
Interesting side point. About the only 'attribute' electric cars (seemingly) have, is they're quiet. However, I recently had a chance to witness a Tesla Plaid rip off a 0 to 60 dash. Aside from the tire noise, the screech from the mechanicals is awe inspiring, but not...
The voltage changes because the alternator output is governed by the Battery Monitoring System (BMS). Occasionally, the BMS tests the battery's State of Charge (SoC) and Depth of Charge (DoC). It unloads the alternator (disables charging), measures the voltage and current, and over time the drop...
With a little math and the cam specs available on line, you can calculate the max equivalent overlap of a Coyote 5.0. I won't give it away, but anyone doing the exercise will be surprised!
There are always two things every village has. One of course is the idiot, and the other a genius. We obviously know which one we're dealing with here!
Upfront... I'm not a pundit of overly-restrictive EPS rules and regulations. Some are good, some are extreme cases of bourgeois oligarchs exercising their control over us proletariats! (The emphasis' on Lenin is intended!)
The burble, rumble, rattle, pops, and bangs we (collectively) like to...
Well, I guess I have to be the devil's advocate once again.
I do not know Jim Farley, never met him, or even seen him in person. Nonetheless, I believe he's done a better job of running FoMoCo than Jim Hackett did. I base my observation on the financial health of Ford, and the dividend payments...
