Cold, I follow Ford's recommendation of 32 PSI. On my Ranger (I don't haul much save for my butt) I use the same 32 PSI albeit the recommended amount is 35 PSI. I'll give up a few miles of wear around town as a tradeoff for a softer ride.
This appears to me like a dynamic balance issue. It may not be applicable to every dealer, but few lube and tire men know how to use a tire balancer correctly. It sort of reminds me of the old JC Whitney level style balancer. Fine for static, darn poor for dynamic balance! Heck, even the local...
My Eco-Boost came off the line 6/13/2024. Forscan does work to an extent (will not save squat!), and the screen has never blanked out. Perhaps I hold my mouth correctly? Or maybe it's because I worship the Sun rise every morning?
Affordable? I like that word, unfortunately, most of the population can't afford $80+ large. This is, I believe, one reason Ford is backtracking by introducing smaller, more affordable vehicles. Stellantis (et. al.) aren't listening, especially Jaguar/Land Rover.
Rather than take bets on a new...
I’ve been a home theater sound enthusiast since about 1987 or so. This was about the date Radio Shack came out with a rear channel decoder. With a small 15 watt stereo amp and a cheap pair of Realistic speakers, I was ready for the big show! Not!
At the time, there was a dearth of surround...
SaggyBottomButt (Oops!) Boy is correct. I haven't driven my Eco-Boost on the track, and have no intention to do so. The car handles as good as any one might want, save for actually engaging is track racing. I sort of disagree that you 'can't' race an Eco-Boost, but it does help if the course...
I was sitting in the garage to day testing out a few MP4a Dolby Digital (Special Audio) Apple Music files. Surprisingly, they sound better than I expected them to after a few minor setting changes, but that is a story for another time.
While I was messing with the dash, I noticed the tire...
Hurray for garages! Roswell, NM is surrounded by pecan trees, and the area produces more than any other state, even Georgia! As a result, squirrels abound, and they like soy-based products too. I prefer the peppermint oil, but in the pellet form. Less messy than the sprays and they just hang...
I wonder about some service departments! I have had instances where the oil level was at the bottom of the stick after an oil change. Surely engines don't leak/use that much driving home 2 miles! In otherwise words, they didn't check the level on final inspection! Sure makes you wonder what the...
I've also noted the jerking on my Eco-Boost. Fact is, I can duplicate it at will. There is also an issue when in Sports mode, and 'L'. If you accelerate hard, then immediately let off the gas and coast, the shift from 1 to second feels like someone hit you in the butt. It is supposed to rev...
Living in Roswell, NM, I can assure you it isn't due to ET type aliens. Fact is, it is simply marketing 101. Or as Samuel Gompers would say.... "Supply vs. demand!"
To steal the bread for a moment. I wonder how many out there, even know how much green house gasses are emitted each year from all sources? Or even more important, what percentage is attributed to man?
The total is ≈850 trillion metric tons. Man's part is ≈48 trillion metric tons, or 6% of the...
I do understand your quest. There are, however, a large bunch of alternatives like the ones I used to use, 60 years ago! Heck, I wonder how many late modelers even know what a glass pack is?
Seemingly, everybody wants suggestions to resonator deletes, X pipes, H pips, double H pipes, et. al. I don't own a GT, but if I did, I'd replace the resonator with a pair of glass packs!
Now wait a minute! I live in Roswell, NM and if anyone knows what alien is which, it is I! Those strange sounds are not ET or related to ET. If it were ET it would sound like this: Klaatu Barada nikto!
All you need to do is to get a set of those tiny ones like they have on slingshot dragsters. All you'd have to do then, is not drive over a cigar butt!
