I've had my Eco-Boost Premium since last September, and I like mine too. They don't always get the recognition they deserve, but there is one outstanding feature the GTs and DHs are in envy of, and that's fuel milage!
I didn't say you could buy a DH with a factory-installed Whipple, but I alluded to this fact: If you install one on a DH, you end up literally with a pony car that'll run with the very best of the exotics. And I dare say, at a fraction of the upkeep. Even a lowly Eco-Boost isn't a vehicle to...
The most expensive 2024/2025 Mustang you can buy, assuming a Dark Horse with a Whipple and all the extras, totals just under $100K. So lets assume that is the top price, which excludes 99% of what one could call an exotic.
Further, which that in mind, doing a bit of research, you’ll find out...
I haven't driven that specific highway, but I did drive over Eisenhower pass a few times before I70 was built (Yes, I'm that old!). Or better yet, the old McClure pass between Aspen, and Glenwood Springs, back in the 50s. The bridges were nothing more than stripped trees driven into the mountain...
I notice the other car (in the garage) is white in color, which is a great contrast just like an old Hollywood classic. But here again, I shudder to think about getting into such a black car after it sits in the sun for an hour in 110+ temps! Ugh!
I'm old enough to remember all of the sketches which supposedly were the new Mustang. Neither the original Ford stylist designs, nor those dreamt by external stylists, ever came close to what was produced. Yes, styling cues sometimes were incorporated into final production, but those were ones...
I believe the answer depends on where you are in life. I'm 85, and an Eco-Boost is about as good as it gets. Low noise (in comparison), fantastic gas mileage, responsive at any speed short of 130+, and a better than average sound system if you buy the Premium model as I did.
I've owned my EB...
If you set it up correctly (automatic) it updates without your input. You'll know if it happens, as it resets the interior colors and a couple of other minor details.
I have an issue with the stock boost reading in my EB. Yes it is there, you can read it, but just sorta. The digital flickering takes away any real information the boost level might give you. My Ranger didn't have a digital gauge like the F150s have in any case,, so I installed an analog one...
Skye, I'm aware of the resources available and have used them from time to time. I suspect part of the issue (with Ford et.al.) is based on a profit motive. Twenty-five years ago the data we're talking about was readily available for free! These days, they've replaced printing costs with on-line...
I might understand the need (or want) to install a Whipple on your Mustang GT, but a stage two? One of the reasons a Dark Horse costs more, is the fact the bottom end has stronger forged parts. This statement speaks for itself.
I'm also of the opinion that throwing parts at the suspension might...
I keep a copy of these handy facts, but the truth is, they're sorely lacking! For example, they don't list the cam timing, overlap, lift, etc. The question is, do we care? I do, and finding that specific data is sorely lacking.
I remember my 1986 Merkur's owner's manual. It had the cam timing...
You'll know when you get an update, as all of the updates have reset several of the personalized parameters. But once you reset things a few times, like your favorite interior colors etc., it'll become second nature.
I didn't mention this in any of the previous threads... I 'fixed' mine by installing mud flaps. This begs the question, can debris get behind the flaps? No!
There are a few things to remember about civilian radar detectors, and that's sensitivity. Although some manufacturers list the sensitivity, few laymen understand what the figures really means. By nature, civilian radar detectors are broad-band, while the radar transmitters are very narrow, and...
