Advance the cam timing at low rpm and gradually retard it as the rpm goes up? Since the exhaust and intake can be moved independently, I am sure there is a lot with which to experiment, but I imagine that Ford put a lot of time and effort into that, which is why my little 5 liter engine is 500...
I deleted that post - sorry. I posted what I saw on the internet, and I think it must have been for a package of several cans. I did not intend to introduce confusion and false information
Wow, I had not seen that video. What an experiment. 😬
I liked his comment, "I can't lie. I'm a little bit scared." 😆
87 octane in a boosted 12:1 engine . . .
567 was a fourth gear pull, so that can't really be compared to dyno pulls in another gear. But, wow, his comments on knock are...
Hard numbers are difficult to come by, but on street engines it can be 50 to 150 horsepower just to turn the supercharger. The internet says it is over 1000 horsepower to turn the blower on a top fuel dragster.
The first and third options connect to the crankshaft, so there is going to be additional stress on the engine.
As for other stress on the engine and transmission, that is all going to be dependent upon how much power you are pushing through the engine and transmission.
With equal horsepower...
And what kind of road course is that? No curbs, no area to runoff, concrete walls everywhere like a delayed and overdue interstate highway construction project.
So I went back to watch it again.
Mph was 125.6.
E.t. was 11.6
Those are way off.
In a perfect drag strip run (I know this was on a Trofeo RS tire on some service road, lol) 125.6 mph is a 4000 pound car at 533 wheel horsepower. The e.t. should be 11.4.
533 wheel horsepower means that the...
For whatever it is worth, the automatic is far better for a supercharged 800 horsepower drag race time than the manual transmission.
I almost wonder if something was wrong with the car or the tune or the supercharger installation.
Also, a couple of folks with Gen 3 Coyotes in this thread on the Gen6 forum (predecessor to this forum) saying their turbos hang low, have to be aware of what is in the road, scraped a time or two, and so on . . .

All that time in the 80s and 90s I dreamed about making one of my fast cars more streetable, less rowdy, smoothing out the idle, lol.
Anybody remember installing Rhoad's lifters? They would bleed down at idle and make some valve train noise as there was clearance in the valve train, but it...
Found your posts (there are not very many posts in the Drag Racing section of this forum). I see you have headers already, too, so tuning is going to make more of a difference.
