Great news!
So, can UK buyers get a 500 horsepower version? I know they are no longer EU (Brexit).
And he is perusing the Ford Performance catalog . . .
There are claims that the cars pick up power and reduce e.t. at 8000 rpm as compared to stock.
I can't recall if anybody posted any objective measurements.
This is especially true, however, for forced induction cars, as the blower pushes more air at higher rpm. There are lots of dyno charts...
Typically, track tires are lighter. For instance, if you are using the max performance summer tire, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in the Dark Horse rear size, 315/30ZR19, it weighs 29 pounds. If you swap to Hoosier R7 track tire, 295/30ZR19 (which has an 11 inch wide tread), it weighs 4 pounds...
Ford uses cast wheels for the Dark Horse handling package. I wonder whether they are also made in China.
All forged or even flow formed SVE wheels have probably got to be better than stock, right?
Yipes. :whew:
So is everything rebranded Chinese stuff?
FWIW, like I said, Apex has a good reputation among folks who track their cars with sticky tires. I do not know anything more except company propaganda videos and such.
:frown:
And this one is 20", 11 in front and 11.5 in back, 305 and 315 tires
Looks like the taller wheels gained this Dark Horse a little more ground clearance for that front spoiler.
To be honest I am not sure I have seen anybody add headers and then tune.
I think one of the tuners (PBD?) added headers and a ported intake and did a tune, but the intake is another variable that may not apply to headers and a tune.
Hoosier makes its R7 in a 295/30 size that has an 11" tread width and probably does not rub like that.

We tried to fit an 18x12" wheel on the front or back of this S550 chassis, but came up short. Not possible without massive tire poke, cutting, or flares... 11" is the maximum and the 315mm Hoosier is pushing the limits of what "fits" - as you can see above..
End of Quote - and they had some...
Great article, but, um, I am not going to take a Sawzall to the front fenders of my beautiful Blue Ember Metallic Dark Horse to fit 12" wheels up front . . .
Wow, they got some excellent results, though, I and I liked the look of the S197 with the fenders flared after they were painted.
For...
I had no idea.
Sorry I mentioned it, now.
I just saw a picture of a chunk of the cast center of a flow formed wheel flying of on the track, lol, but it could have been one in a million, who knows?
SVE does not have the reputation that a company like Apex does for road racing. I cannot comment on the actual usefulness of SVE v. Apex. I just do not know. I think Apex has a very good reputation. SVE has historically been a cast wheel company. Then they got into flow formed. Now they...
