If I were to install Kooks 1&7/8" long tube headers on my car, will it sound terrible?
I actually like the sound of my Dark Horse right now.
I read dismissive comments like, " Great way to add only 20 horsepower and make your car sound terrible at the same time."
Will they make my car sound...
In some conditions of throttle Track and Sport are the same. In others, not. Sport varies the valve in the exhaust. Track just holds it open no matter what.
Are these particular tires or generalized?
I ask because even within the same manufacturer a different tire of the same size, say, 315/30zr19, can be greatly different tread width and diameter.
That link was very helpful, thanks.
I guess I am just shocked that I can cruise the interstate with -2.5° of camber without wearing out the inside of the tread. Maybe I will make this change and drive around like that on the street - them maybe look to get more adjustment from aftermarket...
Did you try it in Drag Mode, as he suggested? It's ok. It does not mean you have to be wearing women's clothing. It is a mode selection on your dashboard that changes some of the settings, maybe including this driveline protection tuning. Try it out.
Oh, one more question: did you ever track it with the factory setting, and did the -2.5 degrees make a big difference?
According to this:
https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/attachments/alignment-specs-s650-pdf.570064/
the front camber spec is only -1.2°
rear is - 1.14°
but they both have +/-...
I guess I would need to know about the competence of the folks doing it. I think the outstanding results on C7 Corvettes were made by a guy retired from Chevrolet who had some position of importance, but I do not remember all the details now, years later.
UPDATE: I think it was this guy, Jim...
I saw immediately that he confirmed (rather than contradicted) one of your points and that the thread showed that either tuning is available or Steeda was working on it.
There are track focused tunes for magneride for GM vehicles that apparently do an excellent job. I do not think anybody...
Interesting. I did not know you could run 2.5 degrees without wearing the inside of the front tires just cruising on the highway.
Did you do your own alignment or have it done? Do alignment techs understand how to use the Dark Horse camber plates to get that 2.5 degrees?
