The EPA has tried to undermine California's Advanced Clean Cars II.
Here is California's side of the story:

Excellent post.
Thank you.
I do not want to get into politics, but on the EPA, we often forget that California drives the market for these things. No manufacturer is going to bother marketing a 49 state car. You get the same thing in text books, which is driven by California requirements...
I wish I could answer you, but I haven't had a radar detector in 35 years, and back then it was Step 1, hang on sun visor, and Step 2, plug into cigarette lighter.
I really need to get with the times and install a radar detector and front and rear cameras with high definition and good night...
That is a racing engine that they are already using in motorsports, e.g., the Dark Horse R (not a 5.0 Coyote). I am not aware of the 5.4 being available even as a crate engine to stick in your street car. It would be cool if it was.
We are powering our Hypercar with a naturally aspirated...
Are there any existing 5.2 cars running laps with a 3.8 Whipple with all of this great, robust thermal management and consistent performance under sustained load?
Ibid.
"The coupe comes standard with MagneRide dampers, and it receives firmer springs than the standard Dark Horse. Ford also fitted new anti-roll bars, revised the front and rear knuckles and front control arms, and added a lightweight magnesium strut tower brace. The steel suspension...
Ford won't comment on differences between the Dark Horse SC engine and other models, e.g., GT500 and GTD.

According to Top Gear, it is the GTD engine, but less than 804 hp

I thought the GTD was 815?
Funny how they can promise all of this on a car that they have not even seen yet, much less bolted a huge 3.8L blower onto . . .
" . . . the Dark Horse SC upgrade is being engineered with a focus on OEM-level integration, exceptional airflow efficiency, and robust thermal management. As with...
I guess they can pump up the PSI because of the "low compression" 9.5:1 in the 5.2.
I remember when engines for blowers were 7.5 or 8:1 and "high compression" for the street was a scary 10:1 or 10.5:1 that often still detonated on pump gas in the summer. Iron heads. Carburetor. Distributor...
