I move from car to car a lot, myself. I had an '03 Terminator (FBO w/ ported blower), then a '20 GT (FBO N/A), then a '21 C8, then a '24 Dark Horse. Looking at adding another toy at some point next year. Might be a Z06 or maybe snag a new Z and go built engine/tranny FBO. I have car ADHD pretty...
Actually, I agree with you. A lot of this is low-key GT trolling and I think I'm slowly starting to paint myself into a corner. This is the Dark Horse owners area of the forum after all. 😅
I went to https://www.ford.com/help/contact/ and said "agent" to get a live person. To their credit, they...
It has a forged crank, forged rods, and different cam profiles. But that's not where the 14hp comes from. That's for enhanced durability for beating its ass on the track or making goofy horsepower later and not having to worry about a rod coming out the side of the block.
Ford recently snubbed their nose at the "legacy" models: Bullit, Mach-1, and Shelby.
Because "we live in the future" was the trite response during the press event. It was really strange to watch. They aren't out of touch with their OG Mustang consumer base. They're knowingly abandoning them...
Mach-1 w/ HP was a fantastic purchase! If you're into the handling, of course.
Yes, the Dark Horse is basically a refreshed Mach-1.
No, it isn't rocking the GT engine.
"It's impractical as a daily driver."
Yes, the Dark Horse is impractical as a daily driver. It wasn't meant to be a daily driver. That's why it's one of my toys. In a way, the same argument could be made for the GT as it's also fairly impractical (though on the lesser end of the spectrum) for...
I wish! Nah, in fact I'm doubling down on my situation! I have a Boundary oil pump and crankshaft sprocket on my dining room table, long-tube off-road headers, new flywheel/clutch, carbon fiber driveshaft, 19 lbs wheels (woohoo), springs (too low raising it .5"), and stage 2 Whipple upgrade kit...
I have had a few people get within a foot of my bumper. It really makes me mad. So mad, in fact, that the last couple nimrods that did it received an old school welcome in the form of a clutch kick, WOT, and brake-ride to sling rocks at them. I usually see them nose-dive then back off or go around.
I haven't experienced that. But if I did, I'd go ahead with my original plan and rip everything out and go pure aftermarket. Screw these stupid computer nannies.
