Yep. When I was looking for wheels, I found several ultra popular (won't name them) Mustang/Ford websites/speedshops that had to ORDER their own wheels and with a several week lead time and a larger price bump (from tariffs) you know what that means.
If that were true, America wouldn't exist. We are, after all, you... if you go back far enough. 😜
EDIT: I skimmed your location and thought it was Europe. The sub-500hp number also led me to believe that. I'm not sure where you are at, so that statement might not be accurate here. hehe
Okay...
Plus, on top of it, if you just drive it like a sane human being it will last forever whether it's supercharged or not. Beating on a car is what kills it. And, if it's any consolation, I'd like to reiterate of the 30k+ miles I have on mine, most of them are merciless full sends at lights and on...
This is the other point I forgot to mention. If you run supercharged, get rid of the cats! I don't have any because they can absolutely superheat, start coming apart, and small particles get pulled back into the engine to kill it. It's common enough that the dealership AND Whipple both warned me...
I'm speaking specifically Stage 2 and beyond. If you go Stage 1 Whipple with a Whipple canned tune, your car will probably live just as long as it would NA. They detune it to 800bhp, walk the red line back, and install a super soft rev limiter that honestly sounds weird AF if you stand on the...
Nah, 800-900rwhp not enough power on it's own to sling a rod or crack a stock piston. They can hold ~1300rwhp full send reliably for quite some time before going. If the tune is sound and the fuel is good, at best a Stage 2 with full bolt-ons is making ~70% of that. Should last for several years...
The Coyote pistons are not a weakpoint at the level of power a stage 2 Whipple produces. Unless, of course, you have sudden detonation from bad fuel and/or going lean.
But of course, to your point, any detonation while making that much power on (albeit fantastically engineered) hypereutectic...
In my area, Hellcats won't bow up to me. Corvettes ignore me even if I lay rubber next to them to start a fight. Imports leave me alone. With the exception of the occasional Mustang or Camaro jumping me, you know who comes out of no where to waste my time with a slowpoke challenge? RAM pickup...
