Higher gears? Didn't measured mine, but it feels a way less than a second from the moment I hit the paddle and the change to happens, more likely within 0.3s, at least for the first 4 gears, upshifting. Downshifts seems to have more lag.
I've told ya, coz on my S550 I had to change one of those projectors, but they sent to me the wrong one (the version for the folded mirrors), then they sent me the correct one, leaving the other on to me.. so I wanted to "modify" it like you said: trying to open it with dremel to rotate the...
Dunno, i thought about it, but I believe, as I already said, it would look far from the door and distorted on the ground, coz the lens is designed to project the logo at that angle.
When you comment about auto VS manual, specify if you experienced an auto WITH paddles or without, coz there's the whole world of difference (I would "die" in my car without the paddles, and I would have returned it the next week.. but with the paddles, I'm in full control and I'm not missing...
It's opposite for EU, all of us have the folding mirrors, and the puddle lights will turn ON only with the mirrors folded (approaching lights). So they couldn't work as courtesy lights when you open the door in example (coz the mirrors will unfold when you unlock the car), like they used to work...
I've used "Ford BlueCruise" coz I were reading on tech doc about it, as they are using the term for this kind of assistance (la centering, signals recognition, adaptive speed control).. anyway, it doesn't have the fully autonomous driving (of course), but it's equipped with two levels of...
There's also a difference with those equipped with the advanced BlueCruise (lane center keeping) and those who are not. Mine has the lane centering (it stay in the middle of the lane, even while turning trough the corner) and the "keep hands on wheels", as reported already many time, is there...
You mean mirrors unfolded (coz they works only when approaching with mirrors folded). Anyway, nope, no solutions. I don't know how they will be projected while unfolded tho, probably far from the door and distorted.
Close vales with H-pipe, sounds deeper than stock opened. However with open valves, it's a WAY louder that stock, especially on starting when it's cold. I love it, but some wouldn't, especially the passers. đź¤
Dunno the situation around the world, here dealers wouldn't care, Ford neither unless you have troubles and it'll fall under warranty (that is what we're interested about).
Ford can definitely know if you tuned it (they could know even if you used a piggyback without touching the original ECU)...
Quoting myself as I had the opportunity to test few things today:
- Pressing the paddles rapidly will indeed skip the gears as we already know, however the "numbers" on the display will not, you will see them changing like 10>9>8>7 .. but the clutch doesn't engage, so you will end doing 10>7...
The 10AT on the S650 is super smooth compared with the S550, which I didn't owned, but tried, when I bought mine: the AT was the major (minus) factor which let me decided to remain with the manual (and bought the Bullitt). So when I moved to the S650 i was worried to experience a similar...
It's faster in roll as well, being always near the top of the torque, even by changing more gears, gives an advantage that couldn't be recovered with a longer gear ratio. However I'm not talking about "racing with others", it's just gives the feel of a more port-oriented car, maybe it doesn't...
The "fun" of a manual, isn't just the stick, it's the whole thing of changing the gears (including the clutch).
And that "fun" part is relative... as I said in my first post in this thread, after tens of years of manual cars, I've figured that the "fun" for me and my driving style is the...
U mean a sort of electronic lever? :) It would be fun.. but on the practical usage (forgetting the limits of don't let you place the stick in the "wrong" place) wouldn't make much sense, the paddles are much faster and you get both hands on the wheel. If you miss the stick (for whatever reason)...
That's the exact example I've posted above. Normally when I'm cruising, I'm in 10th, If i need immediate speed, I drop it in 7th or even in 6th (depending of the speed) by pressing the paddle 3 or 4 times, and I will be in the desired rpm "immediately", faster than what I was doing with my...
