Pulling into the weekly mustang club meeting at a local store parking lot, windows rolled down, driving at a walking pace, we could hear a clear, irregular metallic clank, similar to what you hear when hitting 2 wrenches together. Happens going forward and back, and is audible at very low...
I concur. I put the Steeda Ultimate Handling springs, BMR CB005, and Vorshlag Camber Plates and dialed in almost 3 degrees camber front with zero toe and 2 degrees in the back and the car feels very good with 305 squared. It even tramlines much less than stock.
I have the Steeda Ultimate Handling springs on my Magneride GT. I installed BMR CB005 and that's all I need to focus the back end. That's what I had on my S550 and it works equally well on the S650.
MPG was 21. 70-75 mph cruise control for 900 miles, and stop and go plus slow speeds for the 100 mile convoy portion of the trip. Flat roads.
This is similar to the MPG I get from the 94 octane fuel I used for the first 700 miles since I bought the car.
Like with my s550 I get similar gas...
I just drove a 1000 mile trip for the world record Mustang convoy on 87 last weekend. It ran fine. I fill up with 91 or 94 when I go to the track or plan on doing more spirited driving.
My S650 runs better on 87 than my 2019 GT did. But my 2019 was dyno tuned.
I leave it on on my S650. It is fast enough for my...applications. I turned it off on my 2019 GT because it was slower than when I rev matched myself.
In the real world day to day driving it is purely a show-off feature. Nothing to gain from downshifting when slowing down to a red light. The...
Based on gut feeling, I think you are in the ballpark @12-15k miles.
Based on experience with the previous generation, many owners had to change their fronts around 5k because of the toe out in the alignment from the factory. Makes the car feel more planted, but it will wear the fronts fast...
What fun could AWD possibly bring to the daily-cruiser type? I've only driven Audi and Dodge AWD cars and it feels like it removes enjoyment from the driving experience. Make a heavy car feel heavier and steering disconnected.
Unless it's about straight line acceleration or driving in the snow...
One thing I considered was the cost of financing for the DH: 3% higher than the GT here, which made financial sense only if I paid it cash.
Whereas I am doing better financing the GT and investing the money conservatively and coming ahead at the end of the term.
This would have a greater...
I researched them for my S550 and ended up buying UPR.
I'm sure they're all fine choices, but I went with UPR and will buy one for my S650 as well. Made in the U.S., price is right.
On the contrary...I change engine, differential gearbox and brake oil frequently using only the best synthetics because I track the car.
If I know I will go on a road trip, public roads and no shenanigans,, I don't see what I gain cycling high octane in the tank since I won't miss the 2% HP...
Yes. 94 octane is 25% more here. I use it for the first little while because it's a new toy for me so here and there I will do a little pull to stretch her legs, have some fun.
I had a S550 GT before and it pinged when under load on 87 octane, like when doing a pull from a stop, or going uphill...
I get 16 mpg commuting in the city, almost 24 on the highway. I have filled with 94 octane fuel so far, but will use 87 for daily driving once the car has a couple thousand miles on the clock.
I will use 94 for the track. Here we have 94, 91, 89 and 87 but no 93.
I'm curious...which one do you like?
I use Fox Body...and if I had to use another one it would be the normal one. I don't get my information as quickly on the other ones with the bar graphs.
LOL well said! I applaud your success and I realize that a number of us get to the Mustang early in life with skill, hard work and good ideas! I love to see successful young people.
I think it's one of the things that makes this car special: you'll have rich people and regular folks buying the...
