I've mentioned I do this and have been asked how so here's a quick visual.
Drain your oil as usual:
I go in through the wheel well with the wheel turned full lock left. Pull the plastic alternator guard over the anti roll bar and stuff the area with a shop towel or rags:
Fashion a chute/slide to drain your oil filter into an oil catch. Make sure your towels underneath are placed so that it doesn't allow it to pool and it all runs down. Punch a hole in your filter end, let it drain, then remove, replace and clean up.
