I'm very tempted to reverse engineer this and make it white.

With websites like LEGO Inventory for 76920-1: Ford Mustang Dark Horse | Brickset and then BrickLink Reference Catalog I could probably get all the parts into an Excel spreadsheet and find out what is needed.

100% that would be awesome. I'm pretty sure most of the parts were pretty standard. Keep all the decals, black, grey, clear, and tinted pieces the same and it's just a matter of getting all the blue pieces in white. If you do, I'd love to see it. My real DH is Blue Ember, so I kept the blue. An Oxford White, Vapor Blue, or Shadow Black variant would be a cool concept. Plus, Lego has all of their build manuals online, so you don't even need to reverse engineer anything. Look up the manual, identify the blue pieces and quantities, and find the white inventory numbers to replace them with, then build per the online manual.

The Lego DH kit is great I have one as well, but I wanted a 2025 GTD model so I order one from Walmart and it is cool all in black with gold wheels!

If your local Lowe's or farm store sell the die cast cars up front, they've done dark horse in race red and grabber

My 9yo went shopping with his grandma to give her a hand (she just had shoulder surgery) and as a 'thank you' she let him pick a toy from the store. He grabbed the silver Hot Wheels GTD, and has spent the last few weeks in his room just zooming it around his tracks. The kid has taste.
