I have recently purchased 1993 LX 5.0 with A/C inoperative. Local shop tells me it needs a "low side A/C switch pigtail" but cannot supply a FoMoCo part number. I have tried looking at various on-line stores using this description but have found nothing. Anyone here happen to know more specifics about this part? I am told it is mounted in some way along the firewall, if that helps any. I would sure appreciate any assist available, as driving in South Carolina with A/C in the summer is no fun! Thanks!

I realize this is a Captain Obvious response but have you tried any dealer parts department?

I actually did not try any local Ford dealer parts desk. Might have worked out OK, but I was more focused on using the computer and Mustang owner groups as my resource. I actually got some very useful information from the AllFordMustang site, which seems to have an A.I. of some kind to help parse out useful information. That reply suggested a new description of "A/C Cycling Switch Pigtail" led me on CJ Pony Parts to what I believe is the correct part! Will find out next week when I get the car back into the shop.

Is this part you ordered? It sounds like is also called “Low Pressure Switch Pigtail “. I had an 86 SVO and had to replace it. Good Luck.

Yep, that's the part! Thought it was funny an A.I. bot pointed me in the right direction. It actually made a mistake by suggesting I look for a Motorcraft WPT-158 part, but when I did search on that P/N, all I got was a WPT-1578, which looked like a possible fit, as it was for a Fox body, but not the low pressure switch, I think. When I went back to question this, the A.I. answered that I was correct and it had missed the 7! Too funny. Hopefully, this part will work and I will be back on the road with A/C soon!
