Got the idea from @Clawfford 's "Daisy" photos he posted. Took my GT to the local body shop I've been using since 1990 (they've done my badging, wing, and splitter previously). Had them tape off and paint to match; my front trim bar and CAI bezels. VERY pleased with it!

BEFORE:

CORRECTION--CAI bezels NOT headlight bezels.

That looks great, Wiley! I know different body shops are going to charge different prices for similar work, but would you mind telling us what that job cost? I want to do the same thing if I get a new Mustang before Ford changes the styling again. I may even want to get the rear diffuser painted, or at least part of it.

$450.00 pretty darn reasonable given the appearance change!

The tape job around the grill honey comb took just a hair under 4 hours. The shop owner said he "may have" used some unChristianly language at some point----guess it was a real pain taping and trimming up to the honey comb! 😆

That is very reasonable.

Nice! Daisy didn't have a good "before" picture for comparison, because she started out black... you couldn't really see the "fake grill" portions. I like seeing those pictures side-by-side. (And mine was WRAPPED - much less cursing involved where the color meets the grill).

The new Darkhorse SC front-end gives me hope that future GTs will have fully body color-matched bumpers again someday.

That's still my favorite splitter too... not too little, not too much. Just right!

$450 was a gift !

Are you supplying him with hookers and blow on the side?

Red paint is brutally expensive.

If he has a mixing system he might have been able to mix a half pint but even then the paint alone was probably almost a C note, plus clear, activators and reducers, shop supplies and a good 4 hours labor.

Looks nice !

By the way, the piece that you call the "front trim bar," I have been calling "the fat lip."

It took me a while to figure out what you had done because my entire car is black. It does look good with everything painted red! Why didn't Ford do that to begin with? I guess for the same reason we don't have a front-facing camera! Great choice in having it painted. Glenn

The car should have come painted that way. At least the lower bar should match body paint. Someone needs to make a wrap.
