There is nothing on the car for these brackets to attach to. Im pretty sure these are designed to bolt to that specific MP concepts valance.

Gotcha that would make sense. I figured you could probably screw it in the plastic on the stock valence but didn’t look much into it since it wasn’t black.

My thoughts exactly..... They would have to be specific to MP Concepts valance. Also appears the exhaust would not mechanically attach to these tips. Having a fixed exhaust attached to any valance would not allow the slightest exhaust system movement........ until something eventually breaks like one of the thin attachment brackets on these tips.

LMAOOO yeah. Dark horse tips are fantastic man. Sucks they aren’t bolted. They’re part of the resonator, so the only realistic way to get them is to either replace a GT’s entire resonator (axle back) with a dark horse’s, or, cut a dark horses tips off, and weld it onto the gt resonator.
Why do people refer to mufflers as resonator? I seem to have missed that memo? The suitcase looking thing behind the transmission is what is referred to as a resonator. Is this like how the pound sign became a hashtag?

Yea it’s weird my left side is rock solid and super tight but on the right it’s like the stock tips are shorter so I don’t get as good of a fit. I’m not worried about them flying off which was what I was worried about most. I ordered some exhaust wrap so I’ll give an update with that tomorrow.
My guess (and I hope that I’m wrong) is that over time, they will surely become loose due to the vibration. And you said you were about to add the addition of an H-Pipe correct? This will certainly add more vibrations which could lead to them becoming looser in shorter periods. I had a dream one night that one of my tips came off but went the other route and bought the Corsa Performance Active Axle-back exhaust and I love how they perform and also how they look.

But, good job on yours and make sure to keep em tightened down Bud!!

Yea that's a great point and I'm sure it will definitely happen at some point. I am pretty good at checking my car very often and this has been added to the things that I keep an eye on. But two things I am betting on is that one it wouldn't just come so loose that they fall off and I would notice them get askew first and at least the ones on the right side where I had to tighten them down a lot more it actually caved in the metal around the pipe a little so that should give some additional security. But I think adding some Loctite might not be a bad idea either to give some even more added security. Plus the tips tolerances are pretty tight and they didn't just loosely slip on and took a little effort to get on so I think with all these factors they are pretty safe. The looseness only comes once you push the tip far enough and you run out of stock tip for it to tighten around.

Update:

Using the exhaust wrap definitely isn't going to work, I wasn't able to fit it in between the stock tip and the new ones. I tried stuffing it in the back to fill in the gaps and that didn't really do anything either. But after tightening them down as much as possible they are rock solid to be honest. I tugged, pushed, and tried my hardest to get them to move and they are definitely on there. Removing them originally wasn't super easy either and took a good bit of effort even after the screw was completely loosened so I am definitely not worried about them flying off even if the screw comes loose overtime.

I did run in to an issue with the right most tip where that one isn't as solid as the other 3 and as you can see from the pictures the tips aren't level and the stock tips on the right side stick out further than the left so get both side equal I have to push in the new right side tips more and therefore the clamp doesn't have as much to grab on to. The right most tip is pretty much pushed as far back as it will go and I would say it is still sticking a smidge farther out than the left most side.

When my car goes in the shop hopefully next week to get the h-pipe installed I'll have them do their best to level the tips and also give their opinion on if the tips are secure. I might have them throw some welds on but we will see.

For those of you who were asking about the screws were visible, as you can see from the photos that they definitely are but only if you are far back enough and are looking for them I don't think you will see them day to day. Even with these few caveats I still love the look and for price can't think of anything better. For those on the fence I would definitely grab them and maybe have an exhaust shop chop off the bolts and weld them on for the cleanest/most secure install.

I also did get a response from the seller on eBay and they seemed more than happy to try to accommodate a new design so I am going to see what I can come up with and see if it is something they can make. I will also ask if they can offer it in multiple finishes for those who don't want black but might want some nicer looking tips.

Even if it was I’d probably use that money on other mods. I really like how the stock AE system sounds just really hated the silver tips lol. Getting an H pipe installed next week for a little extra volume and tone and I think it will be perfect for me

Thanks for the update! So in other words, just tighten the screws as much as humanly possible lolol. Doubt it’ll damage anything. The seller said they should be back in stock on it next week. Should I buy them when they arrive or wait for a new design you’re discussing?

Yea pretty much I was worried at first of over tightening but said screw it (No pun intended lol) and just tightened them pretty much until I couldn't anymore and you can see from the pics I sent earlier I definitely couldn't have gone any tighter as the nuts are touching now.

I guess it's really up to you and the fitment will depend a lot on how perfect your stock setup is and how far out you want the tips to stick out.. Farther out you want them the better fitment you will get. I have no idea how long it would take for them to create a new design and manufacture it and I am sure a few samples would have to be created to test with as well so could be a few months just depends on how long you would want to wait.

Small update from the tip manufacturer, I gave him some measurements and he will work with the factory to see what they can do and will send me over a sample to test. He did say it might be some time though, not sure how long that means but will keep you guys in the loop!
