Hello everyone, this is my first time posting. I am wondering if anyone here has any experience or info stating whether or not a autodimming mirror can be added to a base ecoboost? I know the premium and up have all the wiring and items already, but is it the same for a base model and if not, is there a spot to buy the proper wiring / adapter?

I believed the base GT in 2025 has it, but not the EcoBoost. Luckily the rear window tint applied to my poverty pony EcoBoost goes a long way to mitigating needing to dim the rear view mirror.

But I'm curious how easy this is as there's a handy USB port integrated into the auto dimming rear view mirror...

My 2026 EB premium + does NOT have the auto dimming mirror, but has the USB port behind the mirror (decontented??)

If you go to the trouble to take it all apart, supposedly (I have not done this), but my friendly Ford knuckle-buster says there is a place for it to plug in.

What is more (or could be) interesting to me is how Ford determines what model and/or package gets what. I called my twin owner (his identical 2024 EC Premium is an early production, mine is later, June) and his doesn't have the day/night mirror. Go figure.

What should the plig look like? Would it be under the shroud or under the headliner (for those of you with the auto dimming mirror)?
