I've been shopping around for an S650 Mustang GT and am close to pulling the trigger. Decided to get a quote for a 2024 GT and a 2006 Honda Element (current vehicle), it would about about $450 total per month (!!!!) for both. I knew it was going to be a pricey, but didn't think it was going to be that astronomical, wow.

So it got me wondering: what are the rest of you all paying? And if you wouldn't mind sharing age, driving history, and city.

As for me:
1) I am 40 years old
2) No tickets or accidents
3) I live in Glendale

I know that last point is why its so expensive for me. Oh and just fyi, liability-only insurance for 2006 Element is $1338 per year.

A lot of things can tank your insurance rate.
Poor credit score or a lot of debt.
previous DUI
misbehavior by a member of your household.
a stretch in prison
IF you have a child living with you, regardless of what they drive, you get charged for them possibly driving the super expensive car.

Location. If you're in a high(er) crime area, even if you are garage stored.
Local LE does not pursue stolen vehicles or do anything for property damage or theft. Proximity to Mexico plays a part too, as the Cartels put bounties on stolen vehicles - mostly supercrew trucks and once it's across the border, it's gone.

And some carriers simply don't want to insure some vehicles, and charge stupid rates to induce you to move on.

Paying $100/mo for my DH in NY. It's actually the same rate as my 2021 XC90 believe it not. I'm using Geico, did you try that? Geico only cares (at least for me) that's it's a Mustang (non-customized, e.g. whipple).

Geico was the one that gave me the $450 quote, haha. Ran another with Progressive, for just the GT this time and it was much better: $188 per month. If I add in the Element, I'm guessing I would be around $250 per month, which isnt too bad
