Hey all:

I ordered the following second week of January.

2026 GT premium

Adriatic Blue

6 Speed MT

Active Valve

FX package.

I ordered it from the dealer second week of January, Ford confirmed my order 1/24 and it has been crickets since. Is this normal? I live near Chicago, so I didn’t want the car over the winter, but the weather is warming up, now I really want the car.

I almost bought a grabber blue 25 GT last October, but seeing the FX hit me hard in the Nostalgia. I had a 1991 LX 5.0, 7 UP with the green and the white top and white leather when I was 16, I saw the FX and was like yeah, that is what I am ordering.

I think the Adratic blue and the white wheels is ugly, but it is my kind of ugly.

First car was a 1992 LX 2.3 convertible, second car was 1991 LX 5.0 7 UP, wrecked by buddies 97 GT, had a 2009 GT, looking forward to getting a mustang again. I love the song of the 5.0 and rowing my own gears.

Any feedback on time line would be most helpful. Any chance I will see the car early April?

Do we think it takes longer because it is an FX?

Congratulations; welcome, and great color choice [I've got Rapid Red, but if Adriatic Blue had been available in '24 I'd have been hopping from foot to foot trying to decide! 😆]

Thanks, I do like red, the Adriatic Blue just really reminds me of my old Fox Body.

It's likely normal. Ford decides what cars it schedules for production on a weekly basis, and I understand there are several variables considered (parts availability for the options on the car, dealer allocations, dealer location, etc.) From the time you order until the car gets scheduled, you and the dealer are sort of in limbo about the status. Once the car is scheduled and gets a VIN, you can track its progress.

For reference, I received the email from Ford telling me the car was scheduled for production exactly one month after receiving the order confirmation email. I've seen examples of both shorter and longer time frames than that. It has been a little longer than a month for you, but not by a huge amount. I suppose it's possible the FX package could be a reason for slowness (for example, if there was a supply issue with a part in the package).

@2026FX ..... any options above standard fare c - and -0 an take longer. IMO the two biggest factors determining how fast your order is processed is how many vehicles your delaer orders from Ford, particularly Mustangs -and- what order priority your deasloer assigns to your order. Big dealer and high priority faster build. My 2026 GT was ordered in late december slated for build Feb 23. Was built the 24th and shipped the 28. Its on a rail car now awaiting final road transport to dealer. Long McArthur Ford has great videos regarding how Ford assigns Mustang (and other) vehicle shipments and often shows build dated and schedules for various configurations. My 2026 GT was a convertible, AT, Bose up-grade, space gray seats, active valve exhaust, 20" rims and molten magenta tri-coat upgrade - so fairly standard. You probably don't want the car until late April or early May and hopefully you will have it by then.
