Hi, I’m fairly new to the forums. After doing weeks of research it was a struggle to find the best aftermarket mods etc, so I figured I can help others out by listing it here.

I have a 2025 Mustang GT Base (4 piston)

current mods:
Resonator delete with X pipe (my personal preference.)
Ford Whipple supercharger paid at ford to maintain warranty.
RTR method rims and Nitto NT-555 G2 to keep power down and not spin out.

Honestly the most controversial topic in regards to the Mustang S650 with the supercharger are the wheels and tires. After doing an extensive research and I mean really extensive. I went with method RTR’s rims. 19x9.5 in the front running 275/35R/19 Nitto NT-555 G2 tires and 19x10.5 in the rear running 305/35R/19 with Nitto NT-555 G2 tires for max grip to handle all that power. Element wheels have the best promotion on the wheels and tires with free balancing. Since I bought the wheels and tires together, element wheels ship me the rims and tires ready to be installed. It was so easy and I love them!

I didn’t wanna do a cashback system or anything because I have active exhaust so I wanted a budget friendly way to make my exhaust sound better than stock. I got my x pipe from steeda and it sounds amazing!

anyways I hope this helped fellow s650 owners 💪🏽

I forgot to mention I added the
  • Steeda Mustang Coupe Rear IRS Subframe Support Braces

  • to prevent wheel bounce

Useful post, thank you. Will you be adding lowering springs? Did you fit the IRS Subframe Support Braces yourself and if so was it easy to do?

Of course :) and After getting the rims installed today I realized I have space to do 1 inch in both the front and rear but then I’d have to be careful with uneven roads/bumps. So we’ll see on that. I did do the subframe myself and it was very easy but mind you, I went with the basic IBS support frame. Basically just to two metal beams because the full kits felt intimidating to me. Even though it’s much better for wheel bounce and stability. I don’t daily my S650 and I wouldn’t be going on a track ever. So for me personally I felt it wasn’t worth the money or headache. I hope this helped you in some way. :)

Thanks for the write-up. Curious why you went with the X and not H pipe. Most people prefer H

IMO the H pipe just sounds like it has drone once you reach like 5kRPM and the H pipe is suppose to make it sound like a “classic” mustang. I chose the X pipe because to me it sounds louder than stock but not annoying loud and smooth. Again at the end of the day, it’s all preference and I trying to hate on people who do the H pipe. YouTube video of two guys with 2 S 650s. 1 with x pipe and 1 with h pipe. They do rev and launch comparisons. I highly recommend watching that video to help you make your decision :)

Those G2's are pretty low on grip. I would run the 555R2

For the rear I agree, but I didn’t want sacrifice tread life. PS4’s are great tires too if you got the money to burn lol

If it's this video, the comparison likely isn't valid. The owner with the H pipe says his mods are the H pipe and quad tips. This likely means his car has the non-active exhaust, which came with dual tips. So the two cars likely have different mufflers, which impacts the sound considerably.

I wondered why his car has a tinnier sound than the videos I've heard of cars with H pipe and active exhaust, and that appears to be the reason.

From what I am reading, active exhaust plus H pipe = 🥇

Yeah like I said, it’s all about preference tbh. Side note: I cut the resanator without removing anything. I just added a metal sheet to protect the gas tank and I was good. Have fun and good luck!
