Go ahead and watch this. Farley just said “no, we live in the future” in reference to seeing a Cobra or Boss down the line.

What a let down. It makes zero sense to walk away from what made the Mustang so iconic and famous to begin with.

If they make that hood available separately as a "Ford performance" part without the graphics, I might actually buy one for a more aggressive looking hood and for better heat extraction, unless Shelby beats them to it with their S650 hood.

I honestly can't believe in an age were sports cars and muscle cars are damn near instinct and people are complaining about the name of a high performance >600HP nonEV Coupe. Insane

Well there it is, RIP heritage naming, at least in the foreseeable future.

Getting rid of the heritage names that have made them immensely successful and kept them in business for 60+ years is the very reason they will become extinct..

Props to StangMode and Chris Cervenka for asking questions we’ve wanted to know.

Couldn’t be more disappointed with Farley’s answers. He’s not an idiot he knows the GTD is not an answer to corvette when corvettes start at like $70k lol
The company is doing their best… R&D is caught on its back foot…. They were ALL IN EV future.

this is gonna take years if not a decade to unwind.
I agree with this.

I also fear it might be worse than we think. Farley gives off the vibes of a guy who doesn’t care about what the Mustang fan base wants, he’s going to go with his direction no matter what. When that interview wasn’t going in a good direction for him he quickly ended it. Not a good sign.

Same.

I already have a supercharged Dark Horse, plus other mods, so the "Dark Horse SC" doesn't really flip my skirt. Also don't want an automatic no matter how good the DCT is. My boosted S550 was automatic and it got old quite quickly.

I like the 20" rims and tires and may go back to that this coming season; I had VF10s for some of last season. I'll have to ask the guys at Steeda what they recommend for a whipple DH with their Sport Progressive springs. Don't think I'd get 305/30R20 on the front but one never knows.

The 5.2 would be tempting, veeeeeeeeeeeery tempting as I've always loved the sound of it but honestly, not $120k+ CAD worth of like. Since the "base" DH comes in at around 92k CAD, without a blower, I am betting this thing will be $130k or more. Probably more like $150k fully loaded.

I'm curious about the specs. The GTD is 815 so they can't get too close to that otherwise the market for the Unicorn would be gone over night. They can't go 760 cause that would be the same as a S550 GT500. I'm guessing "775".

The things I do want to see are the DH SC hood being available from Ford Performance as well as that steering wheel. Those two things I would insta-put on my own DH and call it a day.

The guys at Steeda are solid. I was physically at their Valdosta location earlier today to have some suspension upgrades installed, and they gave me some great advice about next steps for my build. There were at least 4 modified mustangs in the parking lot when I got there, and I was the only customer, so they practice what they preach.

Jeez, all this fuss over the name Dark Horse. I'm a Mustang newbie, I like it. I just didn't want to wait 6 months for one.
You'd think Ford called it the Ginger Ass.
The fact is, the name is recognised. A random Aussie asked me if mine was a Dark Horse. He knew what it a DH was, just didn't recognise it because Grabber Blue is such a magnificent colour.
As for price, do people think DCT's, carbon wheels and all the other goodies grow on trees?
I can't believe what I paid for the GT, when the same money gets you a boring Skoda or some mind numbing SUV down here.

We already figured he didn’t care after forcing the Mustang name on that suv. That’s after all the backlash from fans and (per their own launch videos) internally as well. Lol

It’s interesting though…. he did say that Ford may do a few of those (heritage nods) after saying no.

But to what capacity, could the Boss become just a styling package on a DH like how the FX Package is?

Dark Horse is a stupid name. Always has been.

it just shows how out of touch they are with their customer base.

too busy doing dumb shit like the "gay raptor"

LOL we live in the future......yet then......

Adds retro fox body and classic Mustang guage options to S650
Launches anniversary addition S650
Launches FX package on S650 hinting back to fox bodies of the past

I mean if your really living in the future...isnt the name "Mustang" inherently still pointing to the past??

Seems like politician double talk.....

Dodge might have changed to an EV but they still kept all their historical names
Chevrolet - Z06 and ZR1 are historical names.......

Sorry but this should have been a Cobra ........they should have done a bespoke NA 5.4 or something with a 6 speed manual.....

Ive drive MANY GT500s - and could buy a CFTP tomorrow if I wanted....but I dont.....if I was purely focused on acceleration times....Id sell my car and pick up a used Plaid for 50K but Im after the "feels"
