All we have is this covered image. Someone noted how it looked like it had a raised ride height, so possibly a raptor mustang. If that isn't it maybe it's the tweaked GTD.

Im guessing tweaked GTD to get the US 'ring record back. They will have to close the horsepower gap and maybe lose a few pounds too. Maybe turbos?

Probably going to be an updated competition spec variant for the new season.

That'd be pointless. We already know it's slower around a track than the ZR1 (many independent tests have proven that) and it's in a different zip code when it comes to horsepower than the Corvette.

Yes in it's current form. Thats why I mention closing the horsepower gap and losing some weight......

It could just be a new GT4 or GT3 variant who knows. But it would be cool if they maxed out the GTD platform.

To be fair, 2 seconds around a 6:52 lap isn't much. The newer version has a whipple, with many speculating that would boost power to over 1,000 hp. That alone would probably result in a faster lap time than the zr1, keep in mind the GTD has a better chassis, aero, tires and brakes than the zr1. Make it a demon in a straight line and it's over imo.

Then factor in this newer GTD also has more downforce and improved areo, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was lighter than the normal GTD. The GTD is already running a 6:52. Give it more downforce, less weight, and an extra 200 hp, and I'm guessing the time would drop into the mid or low 6:40s.

The GTD is getting beat by much more than 2 seconds on much smaller tracks. The ZR1 would be even farther ahead on large tracks. Who gives a shit about "ring times"

Unless they add 200hp and drop 50lbs...

I think your talking about the New Dark Horse SC noted in an earlier post today.
This is an image released a few hours ago that said it was a new vehicle that's gonna be revealed in about an hour. It's possible Ford revealed everything, and then they're gonna reveal the same car at this event tonight. But that would be pretty weird.

The hood also looks closer to the vents on a GTD than the sc.

Everyone who cares about lap times. The ring is literally the ultimate track for lap times my dude, because it's the best test of a vehicles performance. The track has everything, long straights, short straights, elevation changes, high and low speed corners, and so on.
