Not sure if this is specific to DH, but I get a lot of road noise from rear of car. Yes, some of it is tire and road surface, but is seems concentrated from rear. Any suggestion to reduce noise? Thinking of putting sound deadening on trunk floor and spare tire well. Not sure if any othet surfaces need to be done.

You could try quieter tyres, but there might be a performance compromise.
I found Mich PS5's to be quieter than the P Zeros on my last car.

Not sure if your running Pirelli P zero's. My experience has been that as they wear they will get annoyingly noisy. With the latest design they might have improved this but I doubt it. On my 2011 they got so bad I thought I had a differential problem. We will see how things go on my 2024 PP.

Yes, I understand the tires are the major source. But the sound is getting transmitted through the car and I was wondering if anyone had tried to soundproof. Again, I plan on adding some sound deading on trunk floor and spare tire well. Not sure that will do much, but its easy enough to do.

https://www.secondskinaudio.com/ I used it with their base and topper Damplier Pro on my 2011. Before I used it you couldn't hold a normal conversation and the Shaker 1000 sounded poor. After doing it under the rear seats and full trunk area it made a huge difference. It was quite a bit of work but worth it. That 2011 was like a tin can. Zero insulation or sound deadening.
Its not cheap and it does add weight. That might not be what one would want if using it as other than a cruiser. I find the 2024 much more refined than the 2011 and have been satisfied the way Ford has improved from 13 years ago.

I have no issue with road noise on DH but on the c8 Corvette I use to own that was a different situation. In fact, I drive with the exhaust set to sport mode and honestly that is all I hear.

I don't think the DH has any less sound insulation than the GT, since there isn't much to start with anyway. It seems to me (hard to quantify) that my DH is perhaps a bit quieter than my S550 GT, but that was several years ago and the difference may just be because I'm more deaf now.

My C7 was one of the noisest cars I've owned, and I spent a lot of time and effort to make it quieter, and it still sucked.

I've put sound insulation in several cars, starting with the trunk and spare tire well, and yes, it does help. There is also a fair amount of noise that comes through the doors and rear quarter panel, none of which have any sound insulation.

When I work on my BMW 7 series, I am often amazed at the thickness of the sound insulation there. Of course, it is a huge, heavy, luxury car, and the weight savings (or lack thereof) is not as big of a concern.

I will add that my experience with Pirelli tires is that once they get some miles on them, they really get noisy.

Pirelli PZ4 is not a quiet tyre so will not help.

Yes sound deadening will help - I have a layer of foam carpet underlay under my Ford boot mat and that helps quite a bit

So the Ford Trunk Matt by itself did not work by itself? Do you think that's because its above the carpet or the spare tire well?

Honestly, it's not an F150 or Raptor ( have you ridden in one lately? They're pretty quiet from the factory ). I'm sure you could reduce some of the noise from NVH, but the vibration and harshness are still going to resonate through the car and into the cabin.

I am running the Dark Horse PP on PS4S, and most of the time it's not loud but not quiet. Until I get to some of the more coarse asphalt and then it's loud! Really loud. Like turn up the radio by 5 to cover it up.

I'm not dynamatting my way out of that, so to speak.
Someone here has to be a doomsayer, so I'll do it. ;-)

Are you getting vibration of the rear view mirror on the windshield?
