Hey Group! I have a brand new GT Vert with the blade spoiler. I want to put a GT style spoiler for looks. Almost everything I can find says that it is not possible. I think that is wrong. I am thinking about buying a GT Style Rear Spoiler (Spoiler) and have been digging into the install procedure. I understand the vert has a brake light etc., but check out what I found digging deeper. I am attaching two images from two different installs I found online. One is from a FB post where the user replaced the blade spoiler on a vert with a factory "Air Design Spoiler" that said it was for "Coupe Only".

The other is a still from the install video on the spoiler I want to buy.

Both trunk lids appear to have factory holes in the exact same place!!!! I don't think it is a brake light issue at all! I think it is merely an antenna issue and it is easier for Ford and the aftermarket manufactures to say "it'll never work" than it is to tell you to replace the antenna with a stubby.

I am going to order the spoiler and give it a go. I will update the group when I know more, and maybe post an install video. Also, this is one reason I decided to buy the 25' and not wait for a 26'. For me, the three biggest reasons to get the 25' in stead of the 26' were 1) no more spoiler, 2) no more lighted scuff plates and 3) no more universal remote in the visor.

Stubby Antenna will fix that in 30 seconds!

Thanks for the reply. I saw those posts, but there wasn't anything I could find directly relating to swapping out the blade for a GT that has 2 mounting bolts on the center piece, or regarding the fit / differences in the coupe vs. vert decks for non-drill kits. Your post helps confirm the fit question. I suspect the install will go smooth and everything will line up. I very much doubt that Ford would manufacture two different blade spoilers (coupe vs vert), that makes no sense for efficiency.

I wish the aftermarket part guys would address this so we didn't have to figure it out, but what fun would that be?

The spoiler I have has 1 pin and 2 clips in the center and then 2 bolts on sides. So you should be good.

Okay all, I can you definitively that the 2025 convertible trunk with the blade spoiler is the same as coupe. I installed a GT style spoiler and a chin splitter this weekend. The spoiler I got was not the very best fit, but it had to do with the spoiler not the car, and I made it work.

Here are some things to note:
-There is a continuous strip of 3m adhesive along the the spoiler / truck lid join. After you get the bolts out, it is a bit#& to get the lid off. The best thing to do is hinge the spoiler lid toward the back window. The lid is made of ABS, you you will not bend it permanently.
- WD40 will help get the automotive tape off. I let it soak for a while and used blue shop towels to help peel the tape (transfer to the towel from the car with a rolling motion)
- Be careful if you close the trunk with the liner removed and the emergency pull handle hanging down, or the handle will get caught in the jam and break (Yes, I did this.)
- Be careful with some the bolts and nuts when you remove them because if they fall into the trunk lid crack of doom you may never seen thing again. I was trying my best to be careful and I still lost a washer in there.
- You do NOT have to remove the plastic bracket, camera or brake light from the spoiler lid like some of the install videos show. All of the holes are accessible.
- Test fit the spoiler before you tighten all of the bolts. If it is not the right shape, the spoiler will bend the spoiler lid an it will not marry up to the trunk lid right. I had to loosen a couple of the bolts on mine and use a little more 3m tape.
- Do not put the two end bolts in the spoiler until the spoiler lid is back in place and your new 3m tape has set along the trunk lid interface. This will help keep any deflection in the spoiler from trying to pull up the spoiler lid.

The Chin splitter was fairly straight forward. I lifted one side of the car with a floor jack and set a jack stand under for safety. There was plenty of room to work under there without lifting both sides. With the liners under the car it is hard to see the frame / lift points.

I can tell you 100% the shape of the contour on the deck lid is different than the Coupe. I purchased the RTR Ducktail to try and install on my Vert. I removed the factory module and couldn't line anything up on the RTR spoiler. The only way right now to get a spoiler on there is to mount it to the Vert spoiler module. Pretty disappointing.

That's what I did, attach to the vert spoiler module. The vert spoiler module and the couple spoiler module seem to be the same. I bought a coupe GT spoiler and mounted it on my vert module.

I did the same. My car came with no spoiler at all. Bought a spoiler that had the mount piece. Used that to line up where to drive (that piece didn’t have 3rd brake light) and mounted.
I wonder if it is a fastback vs trunk issue.
