Which would you do first in this situation? LTH’s with no cats or half shafts?
I have a Roush phase 2 supercharger, UPR catch cans and X pipe. I love the way the car sounds and runs. My next modification allocation is $3,000 and is meant to protect from future possible damage. I know that melting cats and breaking the factory half shafts is a possibility when running an 810 hp setup. I’m weighing which one to do first and LTH with no cats is what I’m currently leaning towards.
I’m heavy on the peddle at times but not usually from a dig. I don’t plan on running any type of drag radial but the car may see one or two drag strip trips next year but nothing competitive just more so to see where the car is. The car is currently running 7.4 seconds 60-130 mph according to my draggy. I haven’t done any data from a dig and actually can’t get the car to hook up to save my life until I hit 60 and even then it’s still spinning and cutting power if the traction control is on.
The next question becomes do I custom tune the vehicle if I do the headers or do I keep the factory Roush file active? Do I just have the tuner correct the A/F tables or re-write the entire file? Who is a reputable tuner? Where do you find headers with no cats? Of course just track use at that point.
