Hey guys,

I have a Borla S-Type catback exhaust on my 2025 Mustang GT (non-active) after reading a lot that it has a deeper tone, then swapped my OEM headers with stainless works LTH and it sounds amazing. I'm thinking about changing the X-pipe to H-pipe, what do you think? how significant the sound will be? louder? I've read it will be deeper. I know there will be no significant HP change, I'm interested in making the car sound more of classic V8 but not sure if this change will be significant.

Thank you all!

I've seen dyno runs that show S550s make better power with an X pipe. But we're only talking about 2-3 HP at the wheels. Oddly, it seems it's reversed on S650s, again, but only a a few HP. H pipes do seem to create that classic rumble where X pipes seem to make more of a raspy sound. I have Stainless Works LTHs and their double H pipe with the high flow resonators on my '25 DH. Nice rumble that I grew up on. I hate raspy exhaust sound. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I got exactly what I was after with the SW double H pipe.

Next up, a stage 1 3.0 liter Whipple and a dual tune 93 octane and E85 tune until the warranty is up. Then I'll put on a stage 2 kit on the Whipple and have it retuned.

Do you have a video of the headers and S-Type catback?

Yes I do. I tuned it, that explains the crackles.

Stainless Works Long Tube Headers + Borla S-type (Non-active)

Yes, I've seen Steeda doing a dyno comparison and it's insignificant change in hp. I'll probably go with H-pipe.

Throwing a Whipple and a tune on your DH will make it a beast! go for it.

I put it in the above comment lol
I currently run Borla S-type catback non-active as well. That sounds really good with the headers!

It does sound good and I get a lot of compliments, there is still some raspiness at high rpms which is fine but I lean towards the deep throaty sound lol
