So at what speed do you finally get traction?

Maybe it's different road surfacing we use, but I have not had the rears spin up on a dry road even accelerating hard mid corner to pass a truck. When I say hard, it was wife doing the sign of the cross hard.
I'll try harder.

We skimp on asphalt here in the US. It goes years between resurfacing, and in northern states it's even worse. It's half the thickness of say, mainland Europe, so when it expands and contracts, then collects water, cracks and potholes form with more frequency. We have generally poor enforcement of weight from trucks so we get pretty severe ruts in some of the pavement, even some of our interstates, and again because we skimp, we go longer between resurfacing, meaning the surface abrasion gets worn down to almost "smooth as glass". The state road leading to my house is like this.

I should have qualified my post. Our roads are crap, but grippy when fresh. What we have is "summer ice", when the cheap "environmentally safe" tar melts at 25C and comes to the surface. Then, when it rains it's lethally slippery.

Yeah, ain't no one with any power going anywhere on drag radials in 50 degree weather. Maybe after a 5 minute long burnout? šŸ˜… 😜

Porsche has the same problem on Goodyears.

Wow. :whew:

"The launch-control-assisted GTS T-Hybrid accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds in our hands. The quarter mile? 10.7 seconds at 129.7 mph. You don’t need to be even 20 years old today to . . .

. . .

Full transparency and something for new GTS buyers to know: The fat 315/30 21-inch rear tires need to be damn warm for you to have any hope of matching our best time. Otherwise, attempting to launch this 911 on even moderately cold rubber is a one-way ticket to Wheelspin City, something we’ve heard Porsche itself has had to manage in its own testing. And in our direct experience, the tires still lose grip after the 1–2 upshift, which isn’t great for producing the absolute theoretical best times but sure as hell is a grin-making characteristic for drivers who appreciate a bit of drama in their lives. That said, remember the number: 2.6 seconds to 60."
