Hello Mustang Family,

This thread is about deleting the resonator for S650 with an active exhaust and replacing it with one of the following configurations:
(X-Pipe vs H-Pipe) vs (Double-X-Pipe vs Double-H-Pipe) vs (X-Pipe With H-Pipe) vs (H-Pipe with X-pipe)

I'm sure that you guys have seen a lot of debates about the (X-Pipe vs the H-Pipe), with the comparison generally being:
1. H-Pipe will give you a deeper sound like the old school muscle cars, and more down low torque, but less horsepower
2. X-Pipe will give you a louder sound overall, but it sounds raspy, and it will give you more horsepower than the H-Pipe, and lower down low torque
3. Although for the S650 vs the S550, I've often heard these roles being reversed regarding total horsepower and low-down torque

But now they have Double-X-Pipes and Double-H-Pipes...
Do you guys know the difference between these two?

On top of that, now they have a fusion of (X-Pipe with H-Pipe) vs (H-Pipe with X-Pipe), in the order from the first followed by the second...
Do you guys know the difference between these two?

All of this can be a bit overwhelming for a final decision.

Again, I've heard the roles of these configurations being different for S550 and S650...
I would appreciate any feedback is regards to the S650 with an active exhaust with a resonator delete replaced with one of these configurations.

There are a few S650 dyno results videos for the configurations you're considering. The common conclusion is that deleting the resonator doesn't improve power on an otherwise stock coyote.

So really, it's how you want it to sound.

Steeda has tested most of these and did testing recently for the mixed configuration. If you really want to get into the fluids dynamics, I’m sure there are some academic papers and some CFD modeling available online.
For the S550, and X pipe is widely considered the better performance option but for some reason, that is not the case with the S650 per Steedas testing. Overall difference pretty minimal and you will probably not notice them other than the sound. I can’t really tell them apart myself so I tend to look at performance numbers and cost. A stainless H pipe is in my future.

Honestly the sound will be the only difference between them. And the muffler will affect the sound as well.

For the Double x or H versus regular, it tends to get rid of any drown that could come from it. The biggest thing to take away is sometimes the cheaper ones will use thinner sidewalls which can add more tingy sounds. But as far as power, they will all see the same if any.

if you do decide to get one, we offer tons of versions so let me know if I can help.

Thank you for reaching out. So which do you think is the loudest and can produce pops?

Has anyone cut into the stock resonator? Is it just some baffles? Thanks
