They need to lower the price. GT needs to start at $45,000 and not balloon up so quickly with options. I had a 2017 Mustang GT and wanted another one four years later but was priced out. Was not willing to spend $800 plus a month for a well equipped Mustang GT. Went with another car for three years. When I came back into the car market this year was not considering Mustangs again due to price, but the summer lease incentives brought it back to the table and now I have a s650 I’m very happy with.

A lot of people like these cars. I get more positive comments about my car than almost any other I’ve owned. People want them but they can’t afford them.

It’s a controversial opinion but I think the gen4 coyote is too expensive of an engine for the GT. If they could equip a inexpensive V8 with just enough HP to compete with Supra and the Z (400 HP or so but with the Mustang V8 rumble) for $5-10K less they would sell much better. Then reserve the current Coyote for speciality versions and let people pay extra for them who want them.

What's the cheaper engine going to be?

And how much less HP is it going to have?

You mention the Supra, which run 12.1 seconds at 117 mph (according to Car and Driver) and makes 420hp at the rear wheels...about the same as the current Mustang GT.

Not only that, but how does producing 3 engines lower costs?

They can put the Ecoboost in something else that would compete with the hot hatches and the prelude/gr86 type cars. Start as a V8 for entry level into the mustang. 400 HP in something that starts around $40K. It would not be about competing with the Supra and Z at that point because it would be significantly cheaper than those.

Younger people and middle class with families would be able to afford a nice sporty V8 car that seats 4 again. A segment that’s been missing since COVID. (Or maybe partially represented in the RT Challenger before it was discontinued )

People need to learn to face it that if they are 1) Having to make high car payments for their budget, they can't afford the car and move on. 2) Most people haven't taken cost accounting and don't understand that the end product is driven by what parts and pieces cost Ford and 3) Nobody in any demographic segment is entitled to a Mustang or any other car 4) Affordability is driven a lot right now due to interest rates and unnecessary inflation due to moronic decision making prior to January of this year 5) People don't understand economics or how to invest money.

In the past week, I've made a lot of money just by investing it in the right places with the right people. In my younger years, I bought things I could afford so in my middle and later years, I can buy whatever I want. It's called discipline. So there's the lesson on the day, now go home and put together a financial plan for yourself.

Making the kind of car payments people are making right now are beyond my comprehension. Making a car payment is about the same for me. I don't do anything in monthly debt.....especially when I had a family and kids at home.

D I S C I P L I N E will get you what you want. So will a decent paying job and a good education for that matter. There is no substitution for hard smart work. None!

Thats right. If you work hard and get and education, everyone can pay for an over priced car lol. Dont worry about inflation or tarrifs or the job market. You just need discipline!

And seriously, you don't need to tell everyone your financial status on every single post you make about mustang prices. We already know, and it's kinda off-putting you keep sharing. Have some humility, and don't assume you know other peoples financial situation or are somehow better that them because you paid cash for a car. It's not anything special.
