Hey guys,

Im reading a lot about production delays & shipping delays. I wanted to make a post and see if anyone has had a similar experience to mine. I ordered a Mustang on May 15th. It went into production around the 20th July. When looking at the tracker, it was held at "In-Production" for over a month. Once i came across the window sticker I found out it had a blend date of July 22nd. Yet, the order tracker didnt say built until August 22nd. So, I am assuming there was a delay of some sort. I guessing quality checks? Anyway, fast forward to now, I have been stuck at built for almost 3 weeks. My delivery ETA has been pushed back once already. I have contacted Ford Marketing and their chat box. They all say the same thing. "Your primary status is built and your secondary status is released."

You cant get mad at the support guys. They can only tell me what they see on their screen. But, the general lack of transparency is frustating. My current theory is that there was a large batch of mustangs that were on quality holds and that is causing shipping to be delayed. My car is traveling by convoy, not rail. So, shipping should be fast but thats assuming itll eventually get put on a truck.

I wanted to post and see what you've experienced. Is anyone else stuck at "built" or "In-Production." I am hoping it ships soon. I have read that car haulers almost went on strike a week or two ago, and that could've delayed it. I ordered this mustang during Ford's employee pricing deal. Maybe every other person wanting an S650 had the same idea lol.

Robot retraining might take a moment since it can’t spell recall

See the thread "2025 Mustang production delays??" but yes mine is a week past the Blend Date and still "In Production".... Has shown in that state for 2.5 weeks now. Really hoping it flips over to "built" soon.

I ordered a 2025 Mustang - EcoBoost premium convertable, on May 23rd. I received an immediate order confirmation. In early July My dealer advised that is was likely that my Mustang would not be built before the model changeover. Shortly afterwards I received a "customer cash incentive" from Ford, for buying a Mustang. I contacted my dealer and advised him to order the same Mustang, and add the 201A equipment group (because of the content deletions on the new car). I received an immediate order confirmatrion for a 2026 model. On July 17th I received a production notice and the VIN. As of this morning, the car is scheduled for production on Sept 22nd. Makes no difference to me when it actually "shows up" as winter is approaching and it will be in storage until spring. Also confirmed that the "cash incentive" will still be applied regardless of the delivery date FWIW

There is a new safety recall that is delaying cars from being delivered.

I don't know the dates of production off the top of my head.

You may already know this, but if you add you VIN to the end of this link itll pull your windowsticker if it exists. I found mine before it flipped to built: https://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin=

Add your VIN after the equal sign

Yep that's how I got my blend date, from the window sticker - thanks though!

As a reference, enclosed is the recall which was impacting several.

Production dates of interest are from Sep 07, 2022 - Jul 14, 2025.

"Improperly sealed body seams at the vehicle’s cowl top and lower windshield corner
resulting from inconsistent robotic and manual sealer dispensing and skiving operations may allow for potential water instruction into the vehicle’s body structure and a leak path to the vehicle’s body control module."

So, can I sell my 2024 legally to a private party if it's included in the recall?

I don't see why not. But the recall will show on the vehicle history report.

Ordered mine at the end of May. Has been built since July 21 but order tracker still says in production. Dealer says it is on hold but it’s not impacted by the recalls

I read the ongoing production and delivery delays for 2025 Ford Mustangs, with potential issues arising from a recent recall on the LED Driver Modules, strict quality control, and some component availability, though the delays have been more related to vehicle holds and quality inspections than overall plant shutdowns for the model year itself. In other words they don't want to rush vehicles out before they pass the rigorous inspection and make sure the defective LED lights are not used.
