I had a brief discussion with LFP and they said they couldn't get either the standard whipple calibration nor the FP one now. So now both are on hold now.. It sucks because mine already has it installed, and its just sitting waiting for this final step..

Whipple told me just this past Friday that their calibration was not affected and they will provide it.

Interesting, I talked with LFP on 09/05 and they told me that. They were trying to see if they could use the standard whipple tune with the FP whipple that was installed on mine, but could not.

Odd indeed. Somebody got bad info. I wonder which one of us? Now I'll have to call again tomorrow and verify... 🍻

Gotcha I am hoping your info is true lol. But the fact that they installed it and I haven't paid for it yet tells me that they are motivated with moving mine asap imo. It looked nice in person, I just could not drive it out of the lot!

Another option, and now I'm just making stuff up, is that Whipple is not allowed to supply the tune to a kit bought from FP despite them being physically identical? Perhaps dues to warranty differences? Seems crazy but stranger things have happened...

Actually, this seems pretty logical to me.

It could very well come down to the warranty "You don't warranty our calibration and we don't warranty yours. Sure, both use the exact same hardware but the software may or may not be the same".

It's probably same if they have the same CARB exemption for the Whipple, Ford, VMP, and Lethal kits.

I just got off the phone with LFP. I’m going to install a Roush TVS 2650 system instead of the Whipple since it is not impacted by this issue.
How much for the Roush supercharger? I know the Whipple is 12,500.00 at LFP

I’m being told same price which seems right. Roush phase 2 kits are $9995 at most online sites.
Whipple is $10k plus install so that’s where $12,500 comes from.

The superchargers both offer the same performance and warranty. There is only a difference between the Whipple and Roush if you add a stage 2 package to the Whipple. If you’re just going for the 810 package then either one of these options gets you there with a warranty. The Roush is basically just a Magnuson 2650 and plenty of vehicles in the GM world use it and make well over 1200 WHP before it’s starts to run into heating issues.

This is what I got back from whipple support. I guess it doesn't matter if it is FP or not, they are not giving them out either.
