I have a stage 1 Ford performance Whipple car. I don't drive it much but recently after a 2 hour drive, I noticed when accelerating at low RPM the car having a pretty bad hesitation / bucking feel. No check engine light, no sulfur smell but I suspect maybe cats are on their way out. It's still under warranty but I've been waiting a few weeks to get it into the dealer and it's driving me crazy. I tried driving it about a mile last night and it feels like it has no torque or go at low rpm. Maybe it could be a misfire but I'm not getting a check engine light or any notification. Anything I can do to try and figure it out?

How many miles are on it? It may actually be normal if it’s 2-3k miles…

That said I do not trust boost and cats period. I know though stage 1 is super tame but still

You would definitely get a misfire code if there is a real issue

I'm just over 4k miles. I think I have a little over 2k miles with the Whipple

How’s your temps? Melting cats not only create heat but retain it as well. I’d almost lean toward an air leak or really really bad gas. Got any logs?

It's been super hot where I live but I don't recall seeing anything out of the ordinary. I'll definitely try to get a log in the next couple days. Thank you

You were right. It was really bad gas. I threw some octane booster in with some new fuel and it cleared right up.
