It occurs to me that Misha Choudarin has not been hitting a top speed limiter on the Nurburgring . . .

I'm not brave enough to do this, but if you really wanted to take the computer out of the equation, using FORScan, change the tire size to something really small and use a GPS "speed tracker" and see what you can hit.

Recently, last evening. I had my Dark Horse out fooling around. A long stretch of country road, so I figured why not. I went WOT from the dig. A few seconds later I glanced at my speed, I was holding white knuckles to the steering, and as I said I glanced at my speed. It said 162 and it wasn't even trying to slow down . But I did let off and coasted to a reasonable speed and headed home and put the Horse in the barn. Entirely to fast and very irresponsible on my part to do something like that. I do have a 24 DH with Stage 2 and a list of other things. So top speed question I would say somewhere north of 162, and just south of 200 mph. Here's a picture of my very quiet and very docile Dark Horse.

Stage 2 as in Whipple Stage 2? I imagine that hits 162 pretty quickly. Does Whipple disable the top speed limiter that some are saying the Dark Horse has encoded in its stock factory tune?

Palm Beach Dyno just released a video of a S650 whipple charged rtr hitting about 175mph so the speed limiter can definitely be disabled via tune on a dyno.

Yes to S2. The Ford Dealership where I had the Whipple installed told me that it (DH) will run very close to 200 mph. I looked at him and said I was wondering about the 1/4 mile. Not top speed. He then said he wasn't sure about the 1/4 mile.
I didn't believe 200 mph for a second. So I called Ford Performance the next morning and asked them. The told me to hold on and he'd get one of the Performance Techs to help me. So when the guy got on the phone I told him what the dealership told me. I asked him how fast is top speed. His answer was " it should run almost 200 mph" . Just by adding the Whipple I asked? He said yes. At the time I had no idea about the speed limiter. So that question wasn't asked. But I certainly believe 200 mph is totally in the realm of possibility. The car was not straining a bit at 162 mph and felt like it was climbing when I let off. In my humble opinion there is no need for that kind of speed for a street car. I will never track it, or even go to the dragstrip with it. I order the car for fun. I had a mid 10 second Nova before and something was always breaking but that was not supercharged. Totally off subject sorry about that. But like I said speed lifter question never entered my mind, so I didn't ask.
Have a blessed day, and drive safe.

Junkyard,
Sorry about spelling mistakes. I swear my phone hates me. It does whatever it wants. I'm just glad it keeps it clean.

It was very loud, sounded so good. It's an adrenaline rush. I've always been the driver, windows up usually. I let my son drive it . I had in drag mode. I told him to drive it like he stolen it. I was behind him in my 2000 gt with both windows down. No hope keeping up,tried but no luck. But the DH with open exhaust and WOT it's so incredibly loud, I didn't realize before. The next weekend is when I took it out. I absolutely love this car.
