Hey, new to the Mustang world with my grabber blue GT V8 manual

Within days of delivery when detailing it I noticed blobs of paint ?contaminant in the roof channel and tiny areas with holes and missing paint- see pics

On the front grille an area of the plastic has a bubbling appearance. I’m from Western Australia so it’s our winter (so practically summer for Europe and Northern states US lol). I don’t believe it’s heat related.

anyone else have these issues? Is this to be expected in a brand new car from Ford

None for me on my GT Premium. If it were me; I'd check with my dealer and politely/firm;y push for a warranty fix. Good luck!

Ive got a similar problem. 24 grabber blue darkhorse. rear driver side channel. had the car for 9 months before i noticed it, which probably wont help me with a claim story. Ive been contemplating whining about it to a local dealership but my guess is they wont want to do anything about it. ill likely just end up sticking some touch up paint in there and move on with life. its a daily driver getting covered in rock chips anyway so whats another one in the roof channel.

Ive got this clip going through my head from 97s Liar liar. I think we can all learn something from jim carrey

If anyone has experience and or success getting warranty work done on something like this I would also love to hear about it. please chime in with your advice.

Also noticed random small paint defects on my prior '24 Ecoboost, less so on my '25 GT.

Definitely agree Ford needs to improve quality. If it were a 30K car, I'd bite my tongue and suck it up. But for 50K-70K, they better be at least as good as a Toyota Corolla that's half the price.

Is there concern that Ford won't warranty these paint defects? This is clear cut warranty stuff to me.

Separately, got bad news. I used to run a company that was a Tier 1 supplier to Ford's Louisville Truck Plant right before they got out of the class 8 truck business. Back in that day and time Ford struggled badly with painting. Painting a new vehicle is the most difficult part in the assembly process by far. Their paint superintendent at the time had a favorite saying: "The World Against Paint". He was right and would be right today. A company can't throw enough money at a good paint system although other makes do a better job. I had a Z06 that had an amazing paint job. And, yes, it was a Chevy. Luck happens.

I was amazed that my Mustang came in with no paint defects but for it's one big orange peel. Mass painting is beyond difficult and expensive to do right. FWIW and good luck.

Ford approved the warranty to repaint my hood, roof, bumper and front fenders on my dark horse back in january. However, i live in a rural area there is one really good paint shop near me, and a couple that I wouldnt trust to finger paint. Ford refuses to pay the shops price to have it done right, they want to pay tech warranty rates for paint and labor lol. So. 7 months later I am still trying to argue with ford and at this point just want them to come to a settlment agreement and give me a check.

Ugh, Ford against "only" the customer. Don't know exactly what you've been through other than hell so don't know what to say other than maybe not back off. I bet they're paying Their paint people more than your local shop but....."so what" is apparently their attitude. Wish I had a good answer but I don't. It's hard to negotiate with people that don't care. They are reading this forum and are on it so it is kind of amazing they do the right thing and suck up what amounts to nothing to them.

Cheers for the replies, appreciated

3 weeks later no reply from the dealer with multiple emails so I went in. They said it’s not worth repainting especially in rural areas with quality of paint jobs… 🤔 anyway they’ve reluctantly escalated to Ford Australia warranty team at my request, let’s see the outcome! At the very least some compensation to account for reduced resale value.

I’m from a healthcare background, I just don’t understand the business mindset of not caring about your reputation after selling a car / treating a patient. What happened to taking accountability and learning from mistakes / oversights? Maybe it’s the new way of the world…

The paint quality on the S650 is not good in terms or orange peel. But that stuff is NOT something I'd consider normal. I don't have any of that on my Grabber Blue car. I'd definitely take it up with the dealer.

I never thought I would say this but big companies actually do not care about the people that send them money. I'm dealing with that in other industries as a "customer" right now. The bigger they get, the less they care, just as in government and health care. Waste becomes larger too.

I'm used to running big companies but not huge companies. We stomped our competition through customer service besides good products. Customer service is a thing of the past I have concluded.

I just bought something from the grocery store this morning. I asked the checkout guy why they don't make the price of a certain product visible. He turned the product around to the back side and said, "there it is". I asked why it was on the back side where customers can't see it.....no answer. My answer after silence was, "you are looking at a new Wal Mart customer".....no reply. They just don't care. "not my job". Fark those people. Companies have gotten too big to care, including Ford.

Congratulations on giving a grocery store check out clerk a hard time over a price tag. Why would anyone care when people have that condescending approach? I bet your real fun at parties. 🙄

Often times the fix is worse than the problem. Factory paint is generally better, and things can happen when in any mechanic or body shop. I think it's often best to live with little issues. Perhaps the plastic can be changed out for a new part. but then you still have to have a body shop take it all apart and things happen. Just my opinion, unless there is full paint failure, I think you will be happier leaving it alone.

Good looking car. No one will notice. I know it's not the answer you want but I've had things go sideways trying to fix little things, which turn into bigger things. Something to consider.
