I just had ceramic tints for the first time ever, in fact tints at all. I did it for heat not really aesthetics. I went with nearly clear imho, 30% front, 50% sides and rear.
Time will tell how long I keep them but it is getting so hot in the summer I wanted to try something.

so far in limited driving it is fine visually and for the record I am older and wear glasses so I went in concerned. So far all good.

It's night and day as far as what others have mentioned regarding heat and uv protection especially if you leave in the south. If you plan on keeping the car for a while your interior will thank you.

As many have already stated, Ceramic Tint offers better UV Protection, Glare Prevention and its best feature....Heat Reduction. Go to a reputable Tint Shop that's offers Ceramic, have them show you the heat lamp test.....you'll be sold.

I have ceramic tint on everything I own at this point, including my boats. Made a huge difference on my boats, so much so that it almost cut my electric bill in half during the peak of the summer months. The AC can actually keep and cycle on and off up on 90-100 degree days. Prior to the ceramic tint, the AC would never shut off. Boats are notoriously ineffecient as far as insulation is concerned.

Performance

Ceramic Tint:
Heat Rejection: Blocks up to 90–95% of infrared (IR) radiation, significantly reducing interior heat. Ideal for hot climates, keeping your car cooler and reducing AC strain.

UV Protection: Blocks up to 99–99.9% of UV rays, protecting your skin and preventing interior fading.

Glare Reduction: Superior glare reduction due to advanced nano-ceramic technology, improving visibility and safety, especially in bright conditions.

Signal Clarity: Non-metallic, so it doesn’t interfere with GPS, cell phone, or radio signals.

Regular Tint (Dyed or Metallic):
Heat Rejection: Blocks 50–70% of heat, less effective than ceramic. Dyed tints absorb heat, which can stress windows, while metallic tints reflect some heat but not as efficiently.

UV Protection: Blocks 50–99% of UV rays, depending on quality. Advanced dyed films (e.g., 3M Obsidian) can match ceramic’s UV protection but are less common.

Glare Reduction: Reduces glare but less effectively than ceramic, potentially impacting visibility in bright or nighttime conditions.

Signal Interference: Metallic tints can disrupt GPS, cell, and radio signals. Dyed tints don’t, but they offer less performance overall.

Durability
Ceramic Tint:
Highly durable, resistant to fading, bubbling, or purpling due to nano-ceramic particles. Often lasts the vehicle’s lifetime with proper care, backed by lifetime warranties from reputable installers.

Regular Tint:
Less durable; dyed tints fade or turn purple over time (1–5 years, depending on quality and sun exposure). Metallic tints may bubble or peel, requiring more frequent replacements.

Aesthetic and Visibility
Ceramic Tint:
Offers better optical clarity, maintaining a clear view from inside while reducing glare. Available in various shades, it looks darker longer without fading.

Regular Tint:
Provides privacy and a dark look but may reduce nighttime visibility, especially with darker shades (e.g., 5–20% VLT). Dyed tints fade, affecting appearance over time.

From AI

"Yes, ceramic tint is generally considered to offer better visibility at night compared to other types of tint, like dyed or metalized tints. This is because ceramic tints are designed to reduce glare and block heat without significantly darkening the window, allowing for clearer vision in low-light conditions. "
This is an example of how you have to read between the lines with AI answers. If the tint percent is the same, visibility is the same, but the ceramic is supposed to have better heat and UV rejection for the same tint percent.

I have 70% on my windshield. Even my local cop buddy didn’t notice it. But the difference in heat rejection was night and day. That’s what ceramic does.

Polarized glasses or sunglasses might cause rainbow effect vision with some nano-ceramic tint brands. Sometimes even with carbon tints. If you are sensitive, make sure you test this before install. Some installers know about this. They borrow your sunglasses and then make the cut. There is a difference between 0 and 90 degree cut. This is for side windows only. Rear windshield doesn't matter.

I prefer ceramic tint. It’s more scratch resistant, shows less bubbles, I can also feel a temperature difference in my vehicles. Go for it, it’s more, but that’s because it’s better-er.

I've been running only ceramic tint for years. Especially in my black trucks it's a massive improvement. Within a week or so of having my ecoboost, I had 20% ceramic installed on the sides and rear. Now even with the temp set to 76 degrees the car still freezes me out. The difference in heat rejection is night and day difference. I cannot imagine having normal tint anymore.

Agreed, I put ceramic tint on mine and I can definitely tell the difference with the heat reflection. I did 50% on the front and 35% on the sides. I rarely use sunglasses in the car on bright days. Good installer is a must.

I reached out to my salesperson and I'm going to have the window tint that they recently put on most likely taken off. Not sure if I'll go with ceramic window tint but I'm going to go without tint for a while if not indefinitely. Sorry to thread jack.
Let them apply a sample piece to use as an example for demonstration. I am pretty sure it will sell itself!

Good morning,
Absolutely! I'm pretty sure that Texas heat will make you change your mind. I know here is North Carolina we are at a boiling point with all the humidity and heat we're experiencing this summer Glad I finally got mine done. I can't live without it. I went with the 35% tint which isn't that dark but looks darker with the darker interior. I will try to share some pictures later!

Here’s some pics of mine 35% sides and rear, 50% on windshield. If I were to do it again I’d have went 70% on windshield. Can feel too dark at night in some situations. During day I almost never need sunglasses unless sun is straight ahead.
