Because of all the positive reviews when switching to an H pipe or an X-pipe and was also looking to change up the sound that I was hearing from the stock setup.... Different resonator because the stock one is this big box of a suitcase which tones down the overall sounds of the exhaust, and switching it out with an X or an H pipe brings it back to life again...

I replaced the resonator with a X pipe. With the active exhaust, running quiet mode IMO It didn’t make that much of a difference to add resonators. After looking inside the resonator that was removed it has very small ports connecting the sides.

I wasn't sure it what was inside so I did a search and from what I gathered it's just two straight pipes inside with no crossover with either an X or an H....

Also I never use quiet mode, I mean I didn't buy a Mustang for it to be quiet you know..... With my setup I want to be able to use normal sport and track all with different variations of the exhaust tone....

Here's my only regret.....I had some nice crackles and pops with the stock resonator, but after switching to the H pipe that has all gone away ..... no more snap crackles and pops for me which has me pondering the x-pipe.....

Normally, it's like this one, unless there's a difference for the Dark Horse, but I doubt it.

That explains why these things only pick up 1 or 2 hp. That is a great straight through design from the factory just to bring down some sound.

I think I'll go with your set up on my next Mustang. Going to garage and give my DH Premium to the man who is going to marry my daughter. I'm just debating on H pipes or plain straight pipes with those resonators. I have a couple Cherry Bombs, but that could be too loud.

I'm going to make a video so you can hear it......and I recently found out in drag mode with it pinned to the floor at around 60 mph shifting from 5 to 6 gear it chirps the wheels which I think is insanely fun

I think it sounds absolutely perfect but we'll see what everyone else has to say as we all have our opinions.... I bought the x-pipe but I'm not going to use it because I like the way it sounds too much to switch it....

I put a Borla Switchfire on my new Mustang and figured I'd go all the way with Borla S Type, which supposed to be moderate, then found a video of a 24 GT with the exact set up. Was it loud. Extremely loud. And Borla advertises moderate. The put them on a decibel meter. Those things were extremely loud. So they put these twist resonators. Was still a bit loud. I but Switchfire on my Wife's Mach 1 and it sounds great. So guess I'm going to have to search for decent mufflers.

I have steeda h pipe and just added these tr254 6.5 inch aero resonators 6 inches from my h pipe crossover. This goes to my stock active exhaust. No more cold star explosion in my garage lol. Still screams in track mode but refined and classy. The resonator is 1/3 the size of the big box factory resonator. Tempted to get some borla s type axle backs now, not sure if I’m ready for extra 5decibels of sound. I really just want bigger exhaust tips

I ended up switching from the H pipe over to the X pipe with these mini resonators.... sounds ok but I have a

Corsa axle back on order.
