I paid $18'000 Canadian dollars installed by the dealer. Shipping duties, taxes and exchanged on the dollar. Are the part that's hard on us Canadian's.

What's the full breakdown on that?

A lot of people get charged for stuff they don't need

Sounds crazy expensive, the install is not bad at all, if you insist on a dealer install I’d get a quote from Lebanon as they’re the only name I know that build whipple OEM cars with any kind of volume pricing

That is way to much for what I assume is a Ford Performance Whipple kit + installation labor. This assumes no extra parts added. I would look elsewhere. That seems like a penalty price. Like we'll do it but it's gonna cost you!

Took my mechanic 15 hours total, and that included installing Dual Rate springs, G-Trac brace and UPR catch can setup.
My cars a manual which skips a few steps, but it’s a pretty straightforward bolt in. Dealership I bought car at made it sound like brain surgery and wanted almost double what my local shop charged.

ASE certified mechanic is all you need if you’re worried about warranty. Doesn’t have to be Ford dealership. There’s info about that on the Whipple site

In Canada you need to go through Ford dealer because know one has an ASE certification up here as it is an American certification. I phoned Whipple and that's what they told me.

The reason it was so expensive is I live in Canada. Also the exchange on the dollar US is about 35 cents on every dollar. Pre ordered from Lethal Performance but for some reason could not get them to take the order for some reason in their ordering system. So I had to get it ordered through a second party that charged 10%. In order to get the warranty it had to be installed by a Ford dealer as we do not have ASE rated mechanics in Canada asper Whipple. Also it is easy if you live in Florida. Not when you live in Canada.

You could drive to Florida to any of the Whipple or Ford Performance authorized sellers that are contributors to this forum and have them install it for about $3000 plus the cost of the kit

Now if you are going to go with upgraded oil pump gears, catch cans, etc etc etc the price is going to go up.

Drive down from SC to Wellington FL, drop the car off at Lethal Performance, grab a rental, go hang out in the Keys for a couple of days, pick your car upon the way back.

Lethal's website has the Ford Performance ( has a very limited warranty when installed by a ASE tech) for under $9100 plus tax and incidentals ( oil, filter, upgraded oil pump gears, catch cans, etc

Lethal has probably done more installs than your local dealer has and is familiar with the ins and outs of doing it right

@LethalPerformance care to chime in

For the record before I decided not to do the Supercharger on my car, I had many emails and a couple of phone conversations with the folk at Lethal and if I had gone thru with it ( I still may at some point the car is a year old w/4300 miles on it) I was satisfied that they could do it right.

I wouldn’t jump through too many hoops for “warranty”

if the car has a thousand or so miles nothing catastrophic is likely to happen from a manufacturer defect.
And the stage 1 is tame…

bolt it on, let it rip and move on with life… if you eat a rod or 10r80 just get a new aluminator short block or built trans in there with all the money you saved.

the warranty fears are beyond overblown… it’s literally the 4th iteration of the most stout engine ford has ever produced in volume, they’ve been working any issues over the last 15years…

probably hundreds or more making 900 wheel plus worry free.
