Hey guys. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Any of you with Whipple have changed a pulley by yourselves? Pulleying down to Griptec 3.5 and was wondering if its a pain to do it myself..

I have been wondering the same. I also was wondering if you have to change the tune when swapping pulleys. As for the pully swap it looks pretty straight forward.

Yeah, the Swap does look straight forward. Should have been a bit more detailed on my post. Lol.
My main concern is the Belt. Haven’t been able to get a straight answer from mister google. Lol. Older gens whipple was recommending a different pulley belt below 3.5 if im not mistaken. Then again, was reading on 6g forums that a few people used same belt (stock) all the way from 3.7.. to 3.2.. lol lol. šŸ˜‚ With with minor adjustments to the idler. (Whatever that means šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø)

As far as a new ā€œtuneā€ goes, No! But you need to increase your octane. And you do need a BAP. So. Either Octanium or e30 will do.

Shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes or so to swap the pulley. Remove the air intake, loosen the adjustable idler pulley, remove the belt, swap pulleys and put it all back together. Make sure you tension the belt to the 100 mark on the tensioner.

Thanks! Appreciate it.šŸ™
Sort of wanna make sure, lol. Pretty decent at doing shit myself, but obviously never done a pulley. Any idea if i need to use a new (shorter Belt) ? Getting mixed messages about it.. Seems like Whipple has a chart about pulley size and belt length for their previous Gens.. Can’t Find anything on the Gen six. Lol. I’ll probably just call them.

Yea, I’d probably get a smaller belt. You don’t want to deal with belt slip.

Supposed to need an 81.5 belt for 3.5 pulley.

K060815 iirc. I got a 3.5 griptech on my counter that’s gonna go on shortly.
Hallelujah! Lol. šŸ˜‚
Thanks Brother.
