What is this "FOB" connected to steering wheel

See attached picture. The "FOB on a wire" comes out just below the steering column on my son's 2024 Mustang GT. We didn't see it in the manual and he hadnt seen it. Any ideas? The car was purchased new.

My money would be on a dealership installed tracker/alarm or some form of loss mitigation.

It's a switch. Could be from anything that can be turned on or off.
Maybe some neon lights below the car, or some other aftermarket lights somewhere on the car.

Google Search says NARVA switch. So a switch for whatever you want to switch.

If I bought it new I would be going back to the dealer and asking them WTF they were doing adding crap to the car without disclosing it to me

Agree with smurfslayer. Most likely some sort of tracking device. Funny how things such as this end up missing like a sock in a dryer.
