I've just ordered the 20" DriveSava spare from Pony Parts as well.
https://www.ponyparts.design/20-drivesava-mustang-spare-wheel-new-product-has-a
It certainly appears to be the best option.

Spoke to the office at Coolum yesterday, and it's just an office, with stock warehoused at the Gold Coast location. Can't be bothered with the 2+ hour return trip and tolls, so getting it delivered.

Highest priority pre-delivery must-do box now ticked!

Thanks @Flamma3 for the heads up on this 20" variant. :like:
Thanks to all for this fantastic info...
Take a picture when all in boot so we can see the fit..

The 135/70R19 is what the majority of others appear to be selling.
MyStangMods, Mustang Motorsport & Herrod.
I am not sure if this this will clear the larger brakes on a S650..?
Even if it does, I prefer the DriveSava option as its a closer match to the rolling diameter of the factory wheels.

I did notice the DriveSava states it may be a tight fit, however I figured their 20" is actually 6mm smaller in diameter than their 19" option, so I'm hopeful that will make a (very) slight difference to fitting it in the wheel well.
Also, I figured no need to pump the spare to max psi, so could let a slight amount of air out if it needs a couple more mm to fit in & out.

Being that the 20" is the only one I have confirmation on clearing the calipers & that its is the closest rolling diameter to the factory wheels, I feel this is the best solution.

I did ask Alan at Pony Parts if I can return it if it doesn't fit and he said that's not a problem, but he doesn't see there being an issue.
Hi mate
Your getting the 20inch drive sava .. do you have a dark horse of GT
Is there an issue with clearing the brembo brakes on GT with has 19 inch stand wheel..
I spoke to Alan also and he said the 19 should clear the brakes on GT with factory 19 inch
Is it an issue with the fit in the wheel well ..
Any advice would be appreciated as I'm about to order..

Hi Dob,
When I spoke to Alan at pony parts, I specifically told him I am looking for a spare to suit a S650 Dark Horse & he recommended the 20"
His reasoning was that if the 20" spare clears the calipers on a GT500, then there should be no issue with a Dark Horse.
He also confirmed it will fit in the wheel well & has the same rolling diameter as the 19", so no need to worry about the wheels being different heights.

I feel the 20" is a safer bet over their 19", as it should easily clear the calipers & is actually 6mm smaller rolling diameter than their 19", so should fit into the wheel well slightly easier as well.

However the 19" is a little cheaper, so if you can confirm the 19" will clear the S650 calipers (which are larger than the S550), then you could save a bit of money.

Thanks mate.. spoke to Alan at PP and he says 19inch will definitely clear the brakes and fit in wheel well..
Thanks for all the feed back

Just thought I'd mention that an Aussie over at the FordForums mentioned his old S550 spare fits perfectly over the DH brakes and in the spare wheel well. His S550 spare is the official Ford spare which he just removed from his S550 before selling it.
In short, it seems we will have many options to choose from.

Hi All - I have a question regarding the spare tyre options: given that the rear and front tyres are different (275/40 R19 & 255/40 R19 resp.), the rolling diameters are different too. That means they make different revolutions per kilometer driven, see ref below. Given the limited slip differential in the rear axle, doesn’t this mean that the spare tire has to be of the same rolling diameter as the 275/40 R19 rear tires? I think at the front a slightly different diameter would be OK as these tyres rotate independently of each other.

Yep, exactly. You want to match as closely as you can the rear wheels seeing thats where the diff is. In the front its not an issue.

I went with the 20" - although the PonyParts flyer for the 19" DriveSava states it is compatible with all Brembo fitted Mustangs, the website seems to contradict that:

S650 Mustang Spare Tyre solutions 1731970767377-1s

not sure if it just an old script, but I went with the 20" just to be sure.

BTW - it fits nicely in the boot. I wasn't too keen to cut the circle out of the insulation layer of the boot liner, as the instructions say, so I used a 500mm square carpet tile, cut the corners off and it works perfectly. Hasn't seemed to affect the floor level at all.

@5.0ALM can you advise if you've fitted your 20" spare tyre into your boot and tell us whether it works.

One of these is on my to do list but don't want to pull the trigger until I def know it'll fit.

+1 on that one. I really want to get one but need one that will fit without any hack work. I'm not lubing up a tyre to make it fit. It should look and fit like OEM.

Its not as flash as 50ALM’s videos, but here is my 20” spare sitting in the boot well - no lube required. :like:

This.
I started shooting for a video on this weeks ago, but got distracted onto another project.

Despite being ~$100 more expensive, I think the 20" is a no-brainer.
It's a closer match to the rolling diameter of the OEM wheels, and as VB's photo shows, having a slightly smaller diameter means it fits into the wheel well with no trouble.
I haven't had the chance to jack up the car and do a test fit.
Was waiting on some rubber pads for my jacks.
Don't want to be marking the SVE jack pads (if I use the trolley jack at home) or the pinch welds (if I'm by the side of the road and using the supplied scissor jack).

Apologies for the tardy response... away, currently working in Saudi Arabia. đź’©
