Um, actually the EcoBoost is the best way to go...🤓
Nothing like opening up the active exhaust and infuriating everyone because "THAT'S NOT A V8 IT SOUNDS LIKE AN ANGRY CIVIC LAWN MOWER I HATE IT!" 😝

(...I'd go with the GT350 as well, if only because something equivalent hasn't come out for the S650 yet...)

No worries. there still alot of people say the GT350 R

it would depend on why I was in the market for a Mustang.

Daily driving- I change my answer then......considering I live in Southern CA - and if I had to commute/ didn't work from home.....would definitely be something with the 10A

Id probably do a GT 10A with a blower because I'm crazy like that.......

Most likely GT instead of a Dark Horse because if getting the Dark Horse I would want a manual transmission.......

Probably a ’24 GT A10 & 3.55’s
I have bikes to go fast, and shift manually. If I were really going to get serious about auto-x or track events, I’d add in the handling package, but for just kicking around this would fit my needs well.

Of course... the EB Mustang can be had around 30k, so there’s that, but, I know how I am so I’d go with a GT for just DD.

( full disclosure: I just bought a Dark Horse in July )

I’d still get the Dark Horse (with the manual). I still prefer all that it has to offer vs the other two choices and I already have access to an automatic in the form of a truck.

Another reason asking, i have spoken to a few Mach1 owners and they prefer the M1 way over any S650 +
Maybe it has to do with the steering weight? S650 feels a lot lighter when turning the wheel compared to the S550.

I saw the Mach 1’s when they were out but wasn’t really in the market at the time. I could have scored one for less than my Dark Horse ... My oldest brother even had an early 70’s Mach 1.

I like my current choice and for my reasons, which is kind of the point of this thread. Very few people are going to come out and say “yeah, I made a poor life choice and should have bought the <insert model here>”

But, again if we are just talking commuter, DD, with some - let’s say about 5-10% fun time. The GT gets you most of what you’d want, HP / and 355’s and you won’t be thinking to yourself about what you should’ve/could’ve got. Plus, if some nitwit cell yakker totals it, you’re not going to have to scour the earth for a replacement like you would with an allocation car.

Assuming something doesn’t go wrong big time, I can see liking the Dark Horse for a while, it’s just a hoot. Sure, something newer and shinier is going to come along at some point with some newer and better features, but that isn’t always everything. I may just like the Dark Horse more.

money not a factor i would get the Dark Horse. Only reason i have a GT is because money was a factor.

i honestly dont like the mach1, the badge looks weird (not bad, just weird) on the S550 body, and the front end has just never looked good to me. I blame the fake fog light inserts in the grille because my 2010 had actual fog lights there. honestly im just not a fan of the looks of the car, FJG does help that but id still prefer the S650 over it.

I went with the Dark Horse Premium with everything but the appearance package.

Why? Well that is a longer story but I will try and summerize.

Bought a 2021 GT Premium off a dealer floor never having sat in it as it was 3500km away. That was my first Mustang. A10, added a supercharger and made a low 10 second car. A lot of fun for a couple of years. Approaching 50 years old I want to actually DRIVE the car and not just buckle in and hang on as the car does it all for me.

Car was also out of warranty and while only had 25000km on it I felt I wanted to get into a MANUAL again. Since the GT has the getrag, and I know people, in the real world, who have had bad experiences with pushing those tranmissions, I looked at something with the TREMEC.

Now, since we are talking TREMEC what about the Mach 1? I prefer not to buy other peoples problems. Most of the Mach 1 that I've seen for sale are moderate km, modded out or the owners are out of touch with the value of their vehicle vs. the market. I also find that some of the Mach 1s seen on the street are trying to show everyone they have a Mach 1. Instead of treating them like a belowed child, they treat them like a red headed step child. Again, not going to pay premium dollars for someone else's problem.

Finally, I've never had a car roll off the factory assembly line just for me; with all the things that I wanted! The Dark Horse is the top dog, from name plate perspective, for this MY and I had the money so here we are.
