Im seeing several people posting about how completely stock Dark horse with a whipple is making huge out of the box power.

Im curious if I should do headers and some other mods in the meantime, or just keep saving up for the Whipple kit.

Goal is 850whp in the future

Any insight would help me choose the path
For me I have a DH with the HP. To me lowering an already low car is asking for trouble. I have a ford performance whipple which is a stage 1 kit. I ended up doing BMR lockout kit, BMR subframe bracing, and BMR alignment kit, some vertical links to run an 18 in rim on the back when needed, and I am currently installing steeda front and rear sway bars and endlinks. I will get half shafts soon. But so far the car hooks for the power level. Now I'm not in the big boy group with the stage 2 guys and definitely not 850 wheel HP. But the PS4S have done a great job so far for regular driving with not much spin.

I've figured out that with tc on I spin at 28 MPH or below and with tc off I spin @ 44 if I gun it. Obviously from a dig I will spin. With the radials I went with NT555R2 305/45/18 and they have been great when I've used them in the few testing locations in my area. I plan on going to the track after I get the half shafts. I know that I am putting extra stress on the stock ones and believe a prepped surface would cause one to give out lol.

No concerns lowering! I'm on Steeda's dual rate ultimate handling kit and the most trouble I have is going up my driveway. Also, the Dark Horse does have beefier half shafts stock, just in case you didn't know. Cheers!

Man I have trouble going up a lot things or scraping. I had to put on bumper guards for my splitter haha. Heck Georgia roads are terrible, there are to many dips here without warning or places where the road is elevated and dips at the same time and I've hit some. Ahh lol I will play around with some digs then. Thanks!

same here, learned my lesson with my last car lowering it. Should have been taking anti anxiety meds before driving because of how much scraping id get. Now that I have the DH, no need to lower it IMO. I think sway bars are a more worthwhile upgrade, especially if they're adjustable.

So, I realize prices vary on stuff like this with all kinds of issues, and open ended possibilities of thievery and BS artists. With that in mind I’m looking at an APPROXIMATE install price for Whipple kit on a 24 GT … I have a price which sounds fair to me - but wanted some opinions from folks and the more the merrier 👍🏻

The quote I got on the supercharger and install from my dealer was around 12,500 out the door.

ok so the unit is 9995 - so that’s approximately $2505 to install. Yikes, I have one quote of $1600 based on approximately 10 hours of labor I thought that was a very good price. That’s a FORD dealer ASE cert tech . Awaiting on two more …

I did the Whipple first and I'm happy with my choice I have a manual DH with HP and she's a bit of a handful when playing around LOL.
