Oh here we go ......
I'm not the one that started with the name calling. Funny how it goes only one way. Someone can call an entire forum rednecks, and I say "maybe you shouldn't get a V8" and it's "oh here we go...", like I didn't something bad lmao

'entire forum' - I don't think so.

You then respond with the standard 'Prius' insult, hardly occupying the moral high ground are you!

He called everyone who doesn't like the start/stop feature "rednecks" lol Didn't say I was occupying the moral high ground, but your criticism is only going one way. Nothing about the name calling from him... Say a lot. I only replied to his bigotry

Which is NOT the 'entire forum' as you said, if you read the posts on this thread!

You seem to be getting very hot under the collar about this - maybe the cap fits?

The book says that your foot must be off the clutch, you must have your foot on the brake and the car must be in neutral before the engine will shut down. When you press the clutch, the engine will restart. I don't like it but it sounds livable.

Rednecks? Because we don't want our performance engines to shut off at lights? Wtf. If you're so worried about all that, maybe you shouldn't buy a V8 and instead get a Prius
If I felt compelled to label someone a redneck because a particular automotive feature made him crazy I’m not sure I wouldn’t in fairness have to classify myself similarly, especially if my definition of redneck seemed predicated on narrow minded thinking-as does yours.

FWIW the A.S.S. on my wife’s lowly Outback makes me drool with craziness, and it‘s even defeatable on a per start basis. Perhaps it’s an age related thing to some extent. Well, that and redneckery I suppose…
I think you guys are deflecting a bit if you're assuming my post meant I think everyone who has ever disliked this feature is a redneck. As I was getting at in my earlier messages, even I myself am not a fan of this feature in sporty cars, especially with a manual, although based on somewhat limited experience.

However, are you so closed-minded as to assume that the feature is automatically a bad thing in any car that has ever had or will ever have it? Or so as to not see the value in the feature at all? If so, as Jeff Foxworthy would say...

I have the stop/start feature on another Ford vehicle I own. I don't care on that vehicle because it's not a performance vehicle. If you think someone that is paying $70k on a V8 performance muscle car wants a start/stop feature, then as Bill Engvall would say... "Here's your sign".

Where did I say I think that? Was it before or after I said I don't want the feature in my car?

Just like I never said that.

If someone hates that feature, it doesn't mean they're a "redneck". No need to insert name calling because someone you don't even know doesn't like a feature in a car.

Again, I never said everyone who hates the feature is a redneck, brometheus. I think you need to re-read my original post, which, BTW, we're taking far too seriously at this point in any case lol. I suppose I had a feeling that comment would strike a nerve for some people.

You said you're not against the feature like some of the rednecks on here if I remember correctly. I think everyone knows what you meant, seeing as how you don't know much about these people except they don't like that feature lol Yes, name calling usually does strike a nerve with some people. Who would've guessed lol

Check again, brolka dot. I said I don't hate the feature as much as many of the rednecks here. That does not imply either that everyone here is a redneck nor that everyone who dislikes the feature is a redneck. All it means is that there are some rednecks/Luddites here, and they blindly and flagrantly hate this feature. Once again, this post came right after I myself was shitting on the feature, dude. If you think that comment applied to you, well I don't know what to tell you...
