Wow, those look amazing!

To all here who've gotten the Ceramic Coat, did you also have PPF installed and why or why not?

What brand of Ceramic Coat would you recommend and what was the cost if you don't mind telling? Thanks!

While the cost for full ceramic will vary depending upon the product, it nearly doubles when you include the necessary decontamination and (minimum 1-step) paint correction process. Don't think a brand new car doesn't need correction - they all do. If you don't have this done, you'll end up sealing all the imperfections forever.

IGL Kenzo (5 year warranty) all paint/plastic (no wheels, no glass), decon wash, and 1-step paint correction was quoted at $850. IGL EcoCoat Wheel (wheels removed and coated everywhere plus calipers) is $300. They want $300 to PPF just behind all four wheels. Have not had PPF quoted for front/hood/a-pillars/roof yet. Apex Ceramic tint all the way around (inc windshield) is $550.

@roadpilot Thanks for that info! I've never had a vehicle ceramic coated or PPF'd before so this is new to me. I've combed various forums trying to learn about whether or not do either and if so, which brands to go with.

Are you intending on having PPF applied also? My '24 GT convertible should be here sometime during the next week or so and I'm trying to settle on a plan for it. Definitely the ceramic window tint and the ceramic coating as I believe from my research they are worth it. One of the things that causes me pause about PPF is the cost and that it has a finite lifetime, according to what I've read. I've also read about possible yellowing over time but that may not be as much of an issue on my Shadow Black GT. I do intend to keep it long term. Any additional insight and information to help with my decision making would be greatly appreciated.

I had a Stage 1 Paint Correction done first then the Ceramic done by a professional installer.
Whole process took about 5 days.

Our local detailer uses the product System X Max Ceramic Coating. There's lots of ceramic coating brands out there and I'm sure all are pretty equal. What sold me, outside of the bio on the product, is the lifetime warranty and that the detailer has been doing this since 2015. Picking it up later today and then it sits in the garage for 4 days to allow the coating to fully cure.
Process is very complete:
  • Thorough exterior wash
  • Tires, rims, and wheel wells cleaned and decontaminated
  • Chemical paint decontamination via iron remover
  • Mechanical paint decontamination via clay bar
  • Paint correction (extent will be determined after inspection of your vehicle’s paint)
  • System X Max Ceramic Coating (available in G+ Hyper Gloss or MF Matte Friendly)
  • Installation of a ceramic coating paint protectant
  • Reported to Carfax
  • Lifetime warranty

That helps. Seems like the process takes approximately 4-5 days. Did you not go with PPF?

System X is what this Ceramic Coat was done with.
