I have had my S650 for 8 months now, was built 7/27/23. Atlas Blue GT, stunning car and i love its looks. I have had several interior buzzes and rattles that could be heard in different situations and at different loudness levels. I have taken the car into Ford 4 times for them now, but still have a few that are intermittent. It has kind of put a damper on my ability to feel excited to drive the car, but I don't know if I'm holding this car at too high of a standard as far as what is normal or not.

I owned a 2015 Mustang GT for 3 years before my 2024 GT, the 2015 had no rattles or noises at all, and the exhaust was louder on it, so if they were going to develop, they would have. So, coming from the dated 2015, to this, i was expecting the same if not better. So hearing the rattles and buzzes i have, it just rubs me the wrong way. But again, i don't know any other S650 owners in person so i don't know if its a common thing. I'm 24 and this is the first big purchase i've made where i have spent a lot of money and didn't need a bank for the whole thing. I don't know if my sense of pride is being too sensitive or what. Thanks in advance for any comments!

side note: I am a team lead at a Honda manufacturing plant for the Civic and CRV. With that being said, i know noises happen and there is never a perfect car. Im not trying to complain about the mustang, i love the car, just having a hard time gauging where a $58k car should stand on what's acceptable for quality.

Yup, the S650 is an expensive face lift with still a lot of issues and cheap outs.

Panel gaps in the front
Panel gaps on the trunk
Headlamp driver side gap
Doors rubbing on front fender
Missing paint on rear spoiler
Missing paint on fenders
Click sound when put in reverse
Click sound when put in drive
Rattle in dash
Rattle behind screen
Rattle in glove compartment
Rattle passenger seat/door
Rattle under rear seat
Inner wheel gap
Brake padel clicking noise
Faulty battery
Freezing infotainment screen
Lagging infotainment screen
Lagging noise from the speakers when connecting phone
Phone can't connect all the time
Start stop not working
Many weird errors on dash

And with all these common errors we got;
Same doors from the inside
Same shift knob for automatic
Same Mycolor but without cupholder light
Same almost everything
Same engine tick

Ford re-used so many left over parts from the S550 to build the S650.

You would think that they would make the car cheaper when using all those same parts from the S550, but they decided to market the car as a all new and redesigned for Mustang. But noo, they chose to make the car even more expensive.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Mustang, but it is not worth the money and it has a lot of flaws that should be already fixed for this price range.

Even Cadillacs have the undesired gremlin. What is rattling to such a degree that it irritates beyond comprehension?

Various things throughout the cab. Many go with the RPMs, and then those go away at cruising speed and then a whole new set happens with cruising speed.

A large handful of them have been resolved but it seems like each time I get it back from ford, they fixed 2 and made 1 new one.

Ah, it’s her call out to you. She simply wants a tad more attention directly from you. While road noise is a difficult anomaly to mitigate interior buzz’s rattles and chirps can grow to an irritation level just shy of the dreaded road rage.

sometimes it’s too tight sometimes too loose sometimes just right. Take your time try to replicate if able but don’t let it ruin your chi.

if you are able to identify a specific location item or area it may help others in the quest to eliminate.

I can replicate many of them, which is nice because I feel like I'm getting narrowed down to the last few, so ford can fix them, but still have one in the rear c pillar area I can't figure out fully. Going to keep trying to diagnose their origin and get itnto ford for them to hopefully fix.

Wow, with all those problems on a new car and they can't fix them, maybe you should sell and buy something else you would be happier with.

My rattles come and go. It hasn't irked me enough to take it to the dealership to fix. The last time I took it in for them to fix some of the body panels, they only addressed one of the many body fitment issues 👎

I have aftermarket suspension which does ride a little firmer. So, I do have and expect some minor additional rattles. Nothing to worry the dealer about though.

I also have those unfortunate buzzes and vibrations. There are other chats I believe discussing this. I can hear a constant rumble on the highway regardless of surface changes, in neutral, with quiet mode on. So much so you can see the mirror vibrating which ford replaced. Breaks my heart because I want to love this car, but the dealer couldn’t figure it out so I’m forced to try another or move on.

I sold my Mustang a month ago because of 9 dealership visits and extreme rattles and buzzes. $60k for a car that has more interior noises and "defects" than the $30k honda civics i make is nuts. One day I'll get back into a toy but for now I'll wait for the right thing.

I totally get why. I’m going to give it one more round at another dealership then might go look at a used c7. Gets to the point where a few visits turns into fighting with ford dealerships that don’t seem to want to seek out resolutions.

Totally. My local dealer stopped trying and the next closest is over an hour away, I took it there once where it spent 3 weeks just to srill have most of the issues remaining.

I have my first child due in 5 weeks, so I'm gonna focus on that for a few years and then I'm looking to get into a C7 Z07, C8 or a Mach 1, maybe a GT500. My wife and I do well so money isn't a huge issue, just timing.

I don’t know if it’s tires, drive shafts, or something else. Thought about getting one of the precut sound reducing mats that you roll onto the metal under carpets. That might help with sound and vibration. Just not sure how much of a pain in the rear they are to install
