Obviously there was a communication problem in your case. My dealer texted me. Are you sure your text came from Ford? That seems highly unusual.

Yeah, purported to be Ford. 636-498-9341. Said setting up recall appointments for Ford. Maybe not a Ford employee, but contracted by Ford.

1) Wiper parts have no fix or replacement parts until March 2027

2) Wiper motors are reported to act up only in cold weather, so testing in Summer does nothing.

I contemplated calling the dealer and telling them a Star Trek fan on the Internet says their test won't work, but I'm going to keep my appointment. If they can't get the parts until Spring so be it.

I believe the estimated number of vehicles with the defect is 0.4% of the total recall. If memory serves me the recall amount was close to 68,000 +/- . If correct, only 272 +/-unlucky owners will need to return for round two when the parts are available.

EDIT - See below. The way this reads would make one think reprogramming would fix the issue. IDK....

Different situations call for different procedures. Obviously, Ford was not able to pinpoint exactly which cars need the wiper motor replacement without testing. Why incur the cost of replacing all of them if there's a good chance a significant % will pass the test?

While i agree the goop (bcm recall) seemed to indicate a different process. Hadn’t seen an abundance of reports detailing inspection passed no windshield lift nor goop for you.

but for the most part, yeah inspect/diagnose, if symptoms noticed, order part, replace part.

I'm in the Bay Area. It doesn't freeze here. Wiper motor and sprayers work. I have invisible glass and paper towels in the trunk.

I'm not going to worry about this until next year.

According to the recall notice, my February 2025 build must have been February 1 or 2. The cut off date was the 2nd. I win the Ford Lottery.

I knew I should have kept my mouth shut. I should have just said Feb 30. Doesn’t matter.
What changed my expectation was a call in response to a text, to someone working on behalf of ford almost 3 weeks ago, who was scheduling dealer recall appointments. He didn’t say inspect, decide, order part if needed, and replace on next appointment. He said, dealer needs time to get motor, so if your car needs the part, they’ll replace it, right then.
This explains why I wasn’t happy when my dealer took 2 hours to inspect only. i thought for 2 hours, they must be removing and replacing the motor. Duh.

Amazing how challenged they are at communications sometimes.

I think the inspection only takes a few minutes. And it does not require a super-duper technician. My dealer is doing mine in late October when I get my pre-hibernation oil/filter changed. Hoping no new motor required. But, after the service it goes into hibernation for my Colorado winter at 8,500 feet. Too much cinders and mag-chloride on the roads in winter!

Before he started, I told him that it failed the 24 second delay test. He seemed surprised that I knew about this (thanks, jmatero), but he had to test and video the results. It failed. Now they order the motor. The mechanic said they had not been given full details on the repair and did not know if it could be done in the driveway or required a lift and/or special tools. I'm not in any rush as the car will never see freezing weather.

Im still awaiting delivery of my my26 dark horse that needs to be checked.
I have however been told that ill get the car in august.
The last day in august is this sunday so here's hoping.
The dealer hasn't been told what needs to happen for this to be able to be delivered to me so far?

So they did yours right in your driveway? I asked my local dealership and they said they have to do it at the dealership. Dam bums.
