I had it happen on the S550 when it was new... already got a chip in the S650 windshield with 220 miles on it.

I am in CO. I bet I will be joining you once I get my car registered and the PPF installed. I did not get anything on the windshield though. If you drive from October through May in CO, you will get chips and cracks in the windshield.

I just put ShatterX (literally finished less than an hour ago) on the wife's Subaru Forrester. Stupid thing is now on windshield 3 with less than 40k on the odo.
I'll report back with a review, but we did look at a LOT of options - PPF was almost as much as a new windshield. ShatterX is only $36 shipped, so there's reason to give it a shot - as well as being supremely easy to apply.
