I think the s550 mustang is a great platform with little to improve on considering the value. The most compelling thing for me was the transmission, whether you choose the tremec or A10 its a vast improvement over the last gen (I drove a 2022 raptor and the A10 was much smoother than my already good 2020 GT A10). Another thing which may sound stupid for me was that ford finally got rid of the dumb little caliper in the rear and finally gave the "gt350" brakes to the gt. It's going to be interesting to see how tied down the IRS is going to be as I'm sure the bracing is going to be improved.

I wasn't a big fan of the S550, and for my needs the 6th gen Camaro was better, so I bought an SS 1LE...

But now I'm going back to a Mustang. Why?
I like the new styling, it fixed the S550 short comings to my eyes, it's a cleaner, more aggressive design. The new gen Coyote with the dual intakes and 486hp is a nice piece. I even like all the new tech too (I do wish the screen was more integrated with the dash though).

Plus well, there is no more "new" Camaro, so it's not like we have choices anymore. I am not loyal to Ford, or Chevrolet, or anyone. But I give props to Ford for keeping this class alive.

While Chevrolet looks to be turning the Camaro into an EV sedan and Dodge is killing the Challenger and making the Charger an EV. No thanks!

Until I see the new car in person I won't make a decision. Love my S550.

Yup a lot of Camaro guys are joining the smaller higher revving side. To be honest, the camaros interior was the deciding factor in me getting my s550 however theres no denying the ss 1le is the better driver's car. I think the s550 with the digital dash is better than the tacky s650 interior. I do believe that if Ford benchmarked the SS 1LE and make it even 5% better no body will complain.

Technically, I'm not a "Camaro guy", as I have had three Camaros and this will be my third Mustang. I had an '11 GT with the Coyote, and liked it a lot. So this new one with 486hp (vs the other with 412hp) should be pretty fun...

I have had two S550 cars, 18 and 21 and I enjoyed both cars but I am a fan of tech and the upgrades on the S650 made me happy. I have a deposit on a Dark Horse at MSRP and can hardly wait for its arrival. The Blue Ember color also caught my attention.

Well, I wanted to upgrade to a V8 anyway, so for me, it was a question of now vs. later. Initially, I was skeptical a lot about digital gauges, but then I had a rental with them, and they're not that bad. Wireless Android Auto is nice, too, lol

New tech, 4th gen coyote, more options. Looks are subjective but i think the s650 looks better all around except for maybe the trunk decklid panel

I am in a great situation with my 2020 GT, 0% interest, got the car for $2000 under invoice. I am going to wait a couple more years and see how things play out. So far I have seen nothing to compel me to switch out yet.

I love the Mustang, I own a 65, and used to own a 95. I have wanted to buy one brand new for awhile. By the time I decided I wanted one, the S650 rumors were brewing (July 2022). I decided instead of buying a used 2015 50th anniversary edition, I'd save up for an extra big down payment and buy the S650. When the S650 was unveiled, I was somewhat polarized, but LOVED it when I saw it for myself irl.

With the suspension upgrades I've added to my S550, there isn't much that moves the needle for me to switch. No into tech unless it improves performance significantly. Since handling is mi gig, a few more horsepower isn't enough for me to switch. If I didn't already have an S550, then I'd definitely would look into the S650. It kind of reminds me of the original Fox platform morphing to the SN-95...improved, but not a radical departure.

Love my current 550 and not a fan of the new look on the vert- big maw up front and huge chunk of black plastic out back turned me right off. I reserve the right to do a complete 180 once I see it in person (especially DH)or if they tweak those on refresh but so far skipping s650. For my money the 550 m1 HP is the best looking mustang ever made and if I feel the need for a new ride that is what I'll be looking for on the used market.

I have a 2020 GT Premium with 16,000 on the clock. I want to get possibly the last V8 GT offered. I plan to attempt an order before the end of the month. I like the new dash and the slightly aggressive look to the 2024.

I thought you were gonna go for one of those nasty looking Bimmer M4s?

Base MSRP went from $71500 to almost $77k, that being said I actually like the M4. I think it looks much better in person.
